The Caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the Ex-Parte Order granted to Senator Ali Modu Sheriff by a Federal High Court, Abuja restricting INEC from accepting Candidates presented by the committee as null and void and of no effect because it was an “after thought”.

A Federal High Court in Abuja had on Thursday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to only recognise candidates in Ondo and Edo states endorsed by the Ali Modu Sheriff-led National Working Committee, NWC.

The interim order followed a judgement delivered by Justice Okon Abang on a suit filed by two governorship aspirants of the PDP in Edo and Ondo states – Chief Benson Akingboye (Ondo) and Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma (Edo).

But in a statement Friday, the spokesman of the caretaker committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye dismissed the order as untenable.

“The Ex-Parte Order granted to Ali Modu Sheriff’s rebellious group yesterday by the Honourable Justice Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja restricting INEC from accepting Candidates for Edo and Ondo States 2016 Gubernatorial Elections from the PDP is of no effect, null and void. The PDP believes the Order was granted in error by his Lordship due to misrepresentation of facts by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and his co-travelers” he said.

I have said it many times here that Sheriff will always win in the court of law.

PDP and its supporters may not like him but the process they used in removing him was illegal and cannot stand any legal test.

Makarfi and his supporters are only wasting their time. INEC has been ordered to accept Sheriff's candidates only and that is what INEC must do.

This is not era of impunity when court orders were disregarded by PDP and still got away with it.

PDP has not learnt opposition politics.. Well after losing 2019 election.. They would surely come to terms with opposition politics and face reality..

In my opinion error started when high court in Lagos stopped pdp from conducting any convention in PH yet they went ahead and did so, in that point you disregarded court order and brought in Markafi and want another person to respect your order let the power tussle gets to season 10! And it's selling!

Our judiciary always has a way of complicating issues by giving conflicting judgements. By so doing they further delay justice, enrich the lawyers and enrich the judges themselves with their sitting allowance.

Politicians turning Judicially into a mocking stuff. Court order everywhere.
Tomorrow Makarffi led caretaker committee ll go & obtain an exparte order stopping the order granted to Sheriff's rebellious faction.

Every sane mind know that the so-called judgement can't override the judgement of THREE different judgements in favor of the legitimate Markafi led Committee.

High Court in Lagos stopped the convention from holding ELECTION into the office of Chairman, which the Convention in PH and Abuja complied with. No court stopped convention from holding
