chrisley024:Right? That's what I thought. But then it is some sort of agreement. Isn't it? Well, we might just have to raise the top-up via black market. No stopping us |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by dennisMOD(m): 8:18pm On Jul 02, 2016 |
chrisley024:I think you may be right. Maybe we should just deposit the 8640 euro straightaway. It would be blocked. I think the supplementary form should be for people that already deposited 8040 euro earlier and got a confirmation on it. They need to transfer in 600 euro + 150 euro, then fill and send the supplementary form so as to change the blocking to 8640 euro. |

chrisley024:I hate contacting DB, especially via contact form. But I may have to call them instead...am Montag. Danke. |

UncleJudax:Pls inform us when you do. You're 95% done if you've deposited the 8040 already. |

Nnamdyjoe:I applied 5th may Germany application process is too tedious may be because tuition is free, while schools in UK are begging me with admission. but I don't think education is free in Germany like they claimed. do you know what it means students injecting almost 9000 Euro into their economy all over the world.. presently as Nigeria before u will study in Germany you have to budget nothing less than 2.8million. that is not free. This is my third rejection so far and I won't apply for masters again. am not worried about the money I used on DHL to them. I have two admission letters from private schools I wish I have sponsorship letter, I will book appointment. anyway I blame our leaders for everything I grow up to meet 1euro =18 I can't still believe it that 1Euro is now almost 400 |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by chinok97: 2:34am On Jul 03, 2016 |
Mind you, the 9000€ (8790€ now tho),.. is for you, you are the one to spend it, not them (tho naira now, is making us think otherwise ) lol, Uk is scam, schools there are like business centers although they provide topnotch education, but what's the use, if they won't let you use it in a developed country and fight tooth and nail to make sure you go back to where you are coming from, it has gotten so bad, they don't fancy d free immigration amngst eu nationals, all to reduce d amnt people coming to reside in there country talkless of non-eu,.. and they recently got what dey needed to have a stronghold on their immigration laws (Brexit), But if you going to school outside after passing through this stress is to come back immediately(not ur choice, u jst have to) and be on par with Nigerian certificates, why go d first place... All in all:if you feel the stress is still worth it, based on your person.. Godspeed with ur next steps. LGDON: 4 Likes |

For the account opening I don't think there's any need to panic esp if u have ur admission letter. Also when giving out info, give at source pls. All this panic started wt someone referring us to the new form via German embassy website. This made it look like our wonderful chinko lady changed it. But I have compared the supposedly new blocked account checklist with the old. And nothing has changed. All info is as it was. Even the visa checklist still has the old €79** figure. So nothing as per embassy has changed just that db issued a new form. More details later. But like I said I don't think u shd panic. Remember what I said earlier. Nothing is binding until. August 1. Use ya head. Now I sound like a lawyer. Lol. But use ya head 1 Like 1 Share |

biglord: Exactly, I choose to stay on this side August 1 isn't here yet...forgotten where I read it but I remember seeing the change taking effect in Autumn....winter starts September/October. I think it makes sense. Knowing them to like processes...I don't think they 'll just decide to change overnight I.e not planning ahead. My thoughts tho... |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by UncleJudax(m): 6:27am On Jul 03, 2016 |
ProfSamurai:Well, as schools have preferences in the Health Insurance company they accept, I think the embassy have formed a very strong bond with DB. Nonetheless, you can always look for an alternative. But would they be sanctioned? different? better? ...until then. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by UncleJudax(m): 6:34am On Jul 03, 2016 |
detutu1:It is upon us because nobody enrols for winter semester earlier than 01.August. I dont even think programs with mandatory language classes will start until after 01.08 2016 So, the implementation is in order. |

LGDON:With your rejections, you probably were doing things the same way, and wrongly too. Are People rejected? Of course...I got one. I applied to only two schools, one rejection, one admit...it was a calculated risk and it clicked. Ermmm..with education in Germany being free or not...well comparatively, it is. The Uk schools you talking about are like the private ones in Germany...Motto: Your Money, we want FYI, the blocked account deposit is for your sustenance. Or you want the German government to put you on a welfare package on landing? When your own government doesn't even know you exist? In fact, it is the insensitivity of the Government in Abuja that has made €600 increment look like €6000. If the naira was trading at say 200/Euro, this increment would not have been an issue. We do not export anything...apart from maybe Crude oil?, yet our currency is on a free-fall. We are the cause of our problems, not the German Government. 2 Likes |

The new block account rate takes effect from August 1st. This is not about German embassy or db. It's about the German government improving the standard of living for their citizens and permanent residence. before now, German students receive 670 monthly from their govt as study grants (bafög) which amount to 8040 yearly. Effect from August first, they are gonna get 720 monthly which amount to 8640. International students are to comply with the new regulation effect from August 1st. The money is for you they just want to be sure u have enough to care for ur self and not relying on social benefits. God bless Germany! After all in UK, Canada, US students pay high tuition and still take care of them selves. But Germany is tuition free, u only pay semester fee and u get a semester transport ticket that covers the entire state. Wow! If only you know how much such tickets cost for normal German residence, then u will get on ur knees and thank the German govt for their benevolence. I know it's difficult to raise the said amount but Nija govt is to be blamed for that. Students come from all over the world to study in Germany and they all open a block account apart from eu citizens. 10 Likes 2 Shares |
