THE REWARD OF PEACE

Instead of siting the largest $17bn Refinery, Gas and Petrochemical plant in Africa a hostile environment of the Niger-Delta, Aliko Dangote decided to build it in a peaceful Lekki Trade Zone in Lagos state.

It's a business decision. A very commonsense.

Now, what's Lagos state gaining?

1. 135,000 direct employment
2. 100,000 indirect employment
3. State GDP will triple within 3 years.
4. Uninterrupted power supply in Lagos and neighbouring states.
5. 1,000 people of host community will be trained
6. Lagos will be Net Exporter of Petroleum products - propene, petrol, jet fuel, diesel, kerosene, carbon black, polypropylene, etc.
7. Income accruable to the FG of over $50m (N145b) in 3 years.

These are what Lagos is getting for being investor-friendly.

To you Niger Delta Avengers and the rest militant groups, continue to kidnap, gun run, and blow up petroleum pipelines and gas plants. The world is leaving you behind.

There are refineries in portharcourt and warri. Watch how they will come alive when there are no more petroleum imports due to dangotes.

I too wouldn't have cited my refinery in the niger delta because of this. Insecurity is not the issue. Militancy arises when there is poor csr. Many companies are operating without constraints in the niger delta.

Stop exposing your ignorance. Lagos state is currently getting crude oil and mind you, lagos state and ondo got oil that can service the refinery.

Why don't you ask about the oil production capacity of both ondo and lagos states!! Why don you think some states receive more oil derivative than another?

The oil in lagos and ondo combined is not even up to 20% of the oil in akwa ibom alone.

Nigeria’s quest for increased crude oil production and
reserves is on the verge of being achieved with the
commencement of oil exploration in offshore Lagos,
at the Aje field located in Oil Mining Lease 113.
Though the actual quantity of current production was
not stated, it is expected that production from the well would contribute to Nigeria’s attainment of four
million barrels per day crude oil target and also help
achieve the daily target of 2.5 million barrels.

mumu you and your NDA will start to dy drink am like garri immediately fg dump your area for Lagos that have already developed...

Bros!!! The quantity of oil outside the Niger-delta is very low.Nigeria needs this oil to fund her bills and not just refiniries!!if you like build 1million refiniries in lagos,it would not affect the quantity of oil in lagos.

Dangote refinery is private entity they don't necessarily have to get oil from Nigeria wells to feed the refinery, if militants won't allow Nigeria sell crude to them they can import from elsewhere, Angola, Chad, equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Liberia, all have oil. Oil is a commodity and the price is competitive worldwide. But it's kinda sad that all what youths can think of is how a good investment would not work yet we cry no development

The truth is that with time we might nolonger need crude pipelines(NDA wives) in Nigeria again! Its goin to be a matter of transporting the crude via batches and heavy vessels to the refinery! The end success of this refinery cannot be stopped! Any flat headed man frm anywhere praying for such laudable project to fail will be put to shame! Evil pple!

The mistake you make is to think a refinery needs to be fed with crude oil from it's host country.

There is crude oil all over West Africa. The economics of crude oil is now about who is willing to buy my product that is readily available elsewhere too and what concessions am I willing to make in the broader view of international diplomacy and trade partnership. Even Nigeria is looking for who will buy her crude. The arrogance of the crude oil producer community/country ended more than a decade ago. What obtains now is how best to keep your current buyers from switching to the competitor.

Hear it loud and clear, the oil producing states are already capped in terms of revenue generated by volume of crude oil sales due to international sales quota enforced by OPEC even when more crude could have been produced by those states and countries.

However, local sales to local refineries is independent of OPEC quota.

Why would a Delta State or Bayelsa State deprive their states the opportunity to earn more and pay salaries seeing that both states have no reasonable economy outside of oil earnings?

Whoever sells crude earns derivation money, whoever doesn't learn to cry like Delta and Bayelsa Governors have been taught by their own self destructive Avengers.

Dangote doesn't need any oil from Nigeria, it is Nigeria that needs Dangote to buy her crude over other West African neighbours who are so eager to sell.
