NOETHNICITY: There is no issue with importing crude from outside to refine in lagos. But the question is how does that put money into the govt coffers commensurate with the money gotten from crude oil exportation from the niger-delta? Apart from Dangote paying taxes to Govt or importing paying duties, how else does that enrich the govet commensurateky with the money gotten from the sales of crude oil from the niger-delta? My point is that whether a refinery is built in lagos or not,it would not stop niger-delta militants from still crippling the nigerian economy of they so wishes 2 Likes |

kcnwaigbo:Do u think Niger Delta is the only region in Nigeria dat has oil and gas? Oil and gas are in other regions too from the shores of Lagos to Lake Chad, the reason they were unexplored is cos the technology to explore them wasn't available when oil was first discovered but now with fracking and other exploration techniques even cheaper than the old ways, depth previously tot to be impossible to reach are now being reached for half the cost. Why did u even think oil price dropped globally to begin with, it's cos other countries too hv started exploration and the global output surged Keep blowing up stuffs in the Niger Delta until there is nothing else to blow up. the reality is the price might drop even further, u do kw they are experimenting with hydrogen as fuel and dats even in more abundance and greener 3 Likes |

kcnwaigbo:Ain't you getting the drill?! Is everything about generating revenue for the Government?! What's the essence of generating revenue when your citizens are living in abject poverty?! What impact has revenue generated so far from the ND had on the Nigerians?! We are talking of massive jobs creation, stable power supply, probably in the entire south-west region, availability of PMS, AGO, Kerosene, Gas etc at all time! Besides, you should know the Government will also collect "tax" from the Employees of Dangote Refinery! Many businesses will also spring up, thus creating more wealth for the Region. It's a win win for the FG and the good people of South West Nigeria. You Guys are wondering why there is peace in the West, Unity among all Westerners..... it's simply because we are tolerant and sophisticated. 5 Likes

kayfra:Exactly. That is what he does not know. crude oil would still trade at same price irrespective of whether its shipped from Cameroun, a Angola, Ghana, Gabon or Akwa Ibom. He thinks dangote didnt take that into consideration before investing such an amount in lagos.lol Dangote is not under any obligation to buy from the Oil majors in Niger delta. |

Rolings:ogoni has not contributed drop oil into the tank over 15 yrs now and life goes on, the main reason they don't get much allocation though because derivation is according to volume you give into supply. At the end of the day, it's Deltan and Bayelsa that will suffer drop in revenue while Rivers and akwa ibom will open more valves to meet up shortfall unless their own militants the destruction mantra |

The Niger delta had sustained the Nigerian economy for a very long time but suffers injustices and environmental pollution, enslaving her people, coupled with insults from some people in the south west just because d loss of Niger delta region is the gain of lagos, forgetting that by Gods grace, the Niger delta had fed states from the south west in terms of revenue allocations for developmental purpose and payment of workers salaries. what Niger delta region now get from them is insults, instead of sympathy. (u don't bite a finger that had fed u). WELL, IN UR OWN VERY EYES BY GODS GRACE, NIGER DELTA WILL DEVELOP. ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME, JUST LIKE THE LAND Of ISRAEL. After all the God that watch over Israeli never sleep nor slumber, nor is HIS EAR deaf to listen to the plight of the Niger deltans just like the days of Israeli. |

bogolobango:well i believed u people from the south west are happy that lagos develops nd problem reign in Niger delta, well by Gods grace, i bet you that in ur own very eyes Niger delta will rise and leapfrog in infrastructural development nd investment nd u will feel ashamed for ur self. The Niger delta region is just like the Israelites in the land of Egypt in those days, while the Israeli wept, crying for justice , the Egyptians busy laughing, rejoicing and scorned them. But glory be to God, how well is the land of Israel today ? maybe u should do the research by urself ! God bless the Niger delta region for blessing her with oil and gas in abundance. God equally bless Nigeria.Amen |
