From the little of d highlights i watched i saw Awoniyi miss two glaring begging chances.

Well, i would take solace in d facts that:
1. Mexico had d home advantage
2. The likes of Omeruo, Mikel, Ndidi, Troost ekong and some others are yet to integrate with d team.
3. This is Nigeria. I still feel we will manage to get it right las las. grin

No,they are going for rubber band.
And what is even so special about Siasia ? This Olympics will bury his career if he doesn't do the right thing...Why Is Nwobodo not in that team ?

If Mexico were a little clinical, we would have been disgraced. Home advantage was non existent as the stadium was relatively empty.

Those players should improve the defence but who will score?

It is possible that they still do decently but certainly no chance at winning except with huge luck.

Coach Siasia wanted Ekpolo to transport himself to the Camp because there was not enough money. Yet, Coach Siasia has money to transport a comedian. Why not transport Ekpolo with that money.

Coach Siasia's Crack dealer deals on some high grade stuff.

You guys should take it easy nah; what's your source that Gandoki is being sponsored by the NFF. I strongly doubt the possibility.

What is there to doubt? Siasia unveiled Gandoki as the OFFICIAL Comedian of the team. Gandoki is going on official duties. So how do you think Gandoki is not sponsored by the NFF?

It is obvious Coach Siasia dropped Ekpolo fraudulently. How could they tell the boy to transport himself when Coach Siasia said he needed the boy? Yet they have money to transport a comedian to Rio. Shame.

Bereaved Roma striker Sadiq Umar rejoins Olympic team

Sadiq Umar

AS Roma striker Sadiq Umar is scheduled to return to the United States training base of the Nigeria Olympic team at the weekend after he returned to the country following the death of his father.

A close family friend informed AfricanFootball.com that Sadiq arrived Kaduna Sunday evening, a day after his father was buried according to Muslim rites.

“Sadiq is now in Kaduna, but he will return to the Olympic team in Atlanta soon after the traditional eight-day prayers for his father’s soul,” the family source disclosed.

“As a true Muslim, he has accepted his father’s fate and has been comforting his mother.”

Umar senior lost his battle to live on Friday in Kaduna after a long-drawn battle with diabetes.

EXCLUSIVE: Besiktas deal to end Omeruo's Chelsea dream

Omeruo with Mourinho - Nigeria star now looks set to exit Stamford Bridge for good

by Samm Audu

AfricanFootball.com can exclusively reveal that Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo will finally end his time at Chelsea when he joins Besiktas on a season-long loan as it is expected the Turkish champions will then give him a three-year permanent contract thereafter.

As we first reported, Besiktas cannot sign Omeruo, 22, on a permanent deal for the coming season as this will run foul of the UEFA financial fair play rules, but they can snap the player permanently the following season.

A top source explained only to AfricanFootball.com: “Both Chelsea and Besiktas have agreed that Kenneth will move to Turkey on a season-long loan after which Besiktas will give him a three-year permanent contract, if everything goes to plan.

“Kasimpasa had the option to sign the player on a permanent deal after his loan spell there last season, but they could not afford to do so.

“And now with the Besiktas deal firmly in place, it is very likely they will take up the permanent contract option at the end of the season for the player to finally cease to be a Chelsea player.”

Omeruo was scouted by Chelsea at the 2011 FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia.

However, he has yet to make his official debut for ‘The Blues’ as he has instead been variously shipped out on loan to Dutch club ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough in the English Championship, before his time with Kasimpasa last season.

It is obvious too that Coach Samson Siasia can not just sit a lone and drop such an important player. It therefore, means that Siaone is playing along with some NFF members. Their hands must be deeply soiled in the fraud.

I have made up my mind to expect very little from this team so as not to get too disappointed.

Leicester offers Ahmed Musa £16m deal

www.nairaland.com/attachments/3924182_ahmedmusa_jpeg1387ec7f042ef994b8fd63c2140c2eae
Leicester City will sign CSKA Moscow’s Ahmed Musa as early as next week, according to reports emanating from Russia, with the Nigerian international having been on the Foxes’ radar since the turn of the year.

However, Musa had previously knocked Leicester City back, claiming that it was his dream to play for Arsenal.
A matter of months later, and the deal seems to be back on, with Claudio Ranieri’s side set to splash out around £16 million (N6 billion) for the 23-year-old.

Musa’s agent claimed that a potential move to West Ham is definitely off the cards, but talks were being finalised with a Premier League club.
“[We’re] finalising talks with a Premier League club, but it’s not West Ham. I was frankly surprised by this rumour. Yes, he’s coming to England, but Musa’s not joining West Ham,” he tweeted.

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Musa will fly to Leicester on Tuesday for a medical with a finalised transfer expected to be completed in the days following.

Musa plays primarily as a winger but can also be utilised across the front-line and midfield, known for his unrivalled pace and trickery, his combination with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will certainly be something to look out for as the Foxes look to build on the success of last season.

The Foxes target enjoyed a prolific season for CSKA Moscow last year, scoring 17 goals in 40 appearances as CSKA went on to win the Russian Premier League by two points.

Unveiling Gandoki as the official comedian doesn't necessarily imply they would be sponsored by NFF. It could simply be a business deal where Gandoki hopes to cash in on. In view of this, Gandoki and his crew would be responsible for their own expense and ticket to RIO. Not sure of Gandoki's business model here, but I strongly doubt the NFF is spending a dime of them.

On the young lad being told to sponsor himself, personally, I feel it's not cool. However, Siasia can't spend the money that ain't available.

Siasia made the announcement in Abuja saying, ‘I want to introduce to the world Gandoki, the comedian who will be working with us when we get to Brazil as the official comedian of the team‘.

The statement is too clear. Gandoki is part of the Siasia's Team.

Ahmed Musa for Leicester City medical Wednesday

Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa and Efe Ambrose (No 5) celebrate

Nigeria star Ahmed Musa will undergo a medical with Leicester City on Wednesday before signing a five-year contract with the Premier League champions.

"Everything has been finalised and Musa will be in England for his medical on Wednesday," Musa's agent Tony Harris told BBC Sport.

Russian champions CSKA Moscow announced the 23-year-old Ahmed Musa will depart Moscow on Tuesday.

Leicester, who first put in a bid for the jet-heeled winger or forward in January, have now agreed a transfer fee of $21 million.

The surprise champions of the Premier League will make the Nigeria international their fourth signing thus far, with centre-back Luis Hernandez, goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler and midfielder Nampalys Mendy having already signed.
