This is actually great news because it affords the opportunity to end the terrorism once and for all.

With the commencement of Operation Delta Safe, the recent movement of soldiers from the NE to the SS, and the recent Presidential meeting about the issue; I'd say this provocation is perfectly timed.
This is what you keep saying. You will still move the goal post again as usual.

Ms Ann-Kio Briggs
Niger Delta environmental and human rights activist,
Ann- Kio Briggs said yesterday that true federalism
would be the only solution to agitation and militancy in
the oil rich region.
Briggs made the point when she spoke on the solution
to insecurity in the Niger Delta region on Channels
Television Programme, ‘Sunrise Daily,’ while stressing
that injustice had created room for the hostility and
violent activities being embarked on by the militants.
This follows the Federal Government’s declaration of a
two-week military ceasefire in the area to create an
atmosphere for dialogue with the Niger Delta Avengers,
NDA.
Briggs, who is also the spokesperson for Ijaw Republican
Assembly, IRA, and the United Niger Delta Energy
Development Security Strategy, UNDEDSS, noted, “We
must sit down and find a way round how Niger Delta
people will have opportunity to utilise what is in their
region to develop themselves and secure their future.
“The people are complaining that all the oil wells in the
Niger Delta, apart from the ones that the federal
government is sharing with oil companies, about 90
percent or more of those oil wells, for the past 20 to 30
years, have been in the custody of Nigerians who are
not from the Niger Delta region.
“They are not contributing to the development of the
communities where they are making these billions of
dollars.
“If anybody is saying we are not being reasonable by
feeling offended by such captivation, we are moving
round in circles because people will continue to feel
aggrieved,
“It doesn’t matter where the resource is. If it is handled
and shared and denied the people the way it is being
denied the Niger-Delta people, it doesn’t matter where
in Nigeria, those people will actually agitate. And, these
are the core reasons and we must address the core
reasons.”
The activists, while declaring support for dialogue with
militant groups in the region, further noted that such
talks would only yield good result if government would
consider the militants’ agitation.
She added, “We must remind ourselves in Nigeria that
politics is not a war. It is not a situation of winners take
all.
“It is not a situation where a group of people will
determine that they have conquered certain group of
people in Nigeria. We are equal partners in the Nigeria
project.”

ankio briggs is a dyed in the wool hypocrite, who like the pipeline molesters conveniently lost her voice in the gej years and watched while he made thugs billionaires. i feel sorry for the ND. this is the best they will ever have where activists and social crusaders are concerned. Gani, Soyinka, Falana spoke out against every government when the need arose. they did not entertain any silly 'he is our son' sentiment.

Hahahaha, in ur dreams right?

Of course we all know that the sissy military will go after civilians. Pls do tell them that whenever they are being deployed from NE to the SS, they should go straight to the creeks. That's where the people they are looking for are.

Pls don't forget.

Aren't you guys tired of this narratives Saying the same thing over and over again whilst the bombings continues doesn't make sense.

The Nigerian military should tell Buhari the truth, force can't never work but dialogue is the only solution for ND crisis.

Solving the ND crisis will not be achieved through cheap blackmail either.

What GEJ failed to do with all the time, resources and power he wielded, cannot be gotten by blackmailing the present government. No doubt there needs to be intervention in the Delta but it will be through appropriate means.

Keep supporting militancy till it consumes you all. Last time I checked, they're already attacking your government houses. Keep bombing yourselves but be assured that the FG will not fold its hands amidst the activities of terrorists.

Tell Tompolo, Goodluck Jonathan and the entire Ijaw nation and their PDP sympathizers to call their boys to order . Goodluck had the chance to develop the Niger Delta ,as a participant in the process that led to the amnnesty programme and creation of Niger delta ministry he also had 5 years to make sure the region has sustainable development but what did he do he shared the oil windfall with his PDP polithiefcians and left his own region to rot. Shame you all to now unleash these criminals with our stolen wealth to destroy the oil industry but your plans will not work .
let's leave Gej outta d scene a little. Mr before d emergence of gej as d president, has d nigerian state bin fair to the Niger Delta? has d fg initiated any form of development like dey did in lagos and abuja for d Niger Delta before gej era? so bkos gej didn't do something for his ppl ,dey should not agitate for something dat is ryt which is self determination? u ppl r just wicked. u r quick to support one nigeria but rather Dan support equality for everyone and tru federalism as most advanced countries operate,u are typing poo

if u classfy NDA as terrorists, in ur academic works or international politics I bet you , u will score F9 ,sincerely and truly NDA re freedom fighters . They re fighting against degradation and slavery , inhumanity ,neglect of US-Brtish nigeria in the region. There is no part of the world that this wickedness and fraud will be allowed, that what God gave to NIger delta as a blessing has turn to a curse overnight.

NDA is a terrorist group and will soon be classified as such. Make no mistake about it.
Kidnapping foreign and local workers, destroying pipeline, etc. What do you call it?

NDDC was created before Gej it's former name was OMPADEC . Bringing Jonathan into the aregument was because he was part of the processes that set up the amnesty programme and ministry of Niger delta (both created by UMYA) and afterwards he was president for 5years during which time he has the opportunity to do something tangible about the Niger delta issues which he failed to do . A serious minded son of the Niger delta would have done a lot more thatn Gej did when he had the time. The agitation for a Niger D eltan as president wasn't just to balance the equation politically but also with the belief that a son of the soil who understands the plight of Niger deltans will be able to solve their problems. Don't tell me he can't do everything for his people alone as he was president of Nigeria and not Niger delta because that is a dumb argument .

This ain't about supporting militancy or blackmailing Buhari but imploring him to apply wisdom instead of force that has failed to achieve anything.

And what has Buhari done to your Fulani terrorist brothers than fold his hands whilst they go on rampage killing Nigerians across the country

You want to implore the Chief Security Officer to not use force, by using force?

Just listen to yourself.

So what has your CSO achieved with his use of force? Has the bombings stopped.

A wise leader ought to know how to apply diplomacy in a complex society with diverse ethnic affiliations like ours. Neither militarization nor force will ever work in solving ND agitations.

Buhari himself begged these guys to stop the bombings but minions like you keeps 'forming Hercules' on Nairaland.

And what have YOU achieved by bombing yourselves to oblivion? I'm sure you're aware Nigeria is still making billions from her oil revenue while your state governments are getting broker by the minute and your lands and rivers are becoming more polluted.

Be assured, force has not been used, just carrot and stick. When force is applied you will know.

Keep acting like spoilt kids, you will reap the fruits of bombing, violence, and support for terrorism.

Ask the NE. If you have any foresight you would all form a civilian JTF to fish out your terrorist brothers before it's too late. I've never seen a more foolish agitation in my life...cutting your nose to spite your face.

This government cannot be blackmailed.

YOU indeed. In your warped mind anyone that's not on the same page with the way this govt mishandles issues is a militant/IPOB abi
If you have a grouse against militants kindly direct your rants to appropriate quarters cos I ain't one.

And if you care to know I am a 'south westerner' that believes in justice, diplomacy and fairness cos that's what can engender development, harmony/peace in present day Nigeria not winner takes it all attitude of buhari/Fulanis vis-à-vis his 97% vs 5% analogy. A wise leader will never start a fire that may destroy his household if he's genuinely concerned about their welfare except he's got a hidden agenda.

So gagging voices of dissent and opposition will not stop Nigerians from pointing out glaring injustices, sufferings, insecurity, killings, nepotism and anarchy that pervades the country.

Discerning observers knows the game playing out in Nigeria presently except those who can not see beyond their noses. Leaders should remember and understand our history lest we make past mistakes that may strain the fabric than it is and push the country off the edge.
