You know if this action is not taken. Many more might lose their money. And we don't want that to happen. We all remember the bank crises and how much people lost.

again, CBN has failed in its regulatory duties.

when was the last audit carried out by CBN? who are their external auditors?

what about their annual accounts? why was it not probed before now to identify the bad loans, defaulters and also the recipients of these loans? who approved these loans? were these loans released in batches without any oversight to ensure that previous funds have been well utilised or just one transfer? what about the collateral for these loans?

who in CBN authorised the mergers/acquisitions? was'nt due dilligence carried out at the time to confirm if skye bank was indeed a suitable 'buyer'

too many questions. . . . just too many failings. . . . .heads should roll over this lipsrsealed

nonsense president, boys are being separated from the men... Its clearly over for yearly bogus end of the year financial statements.. Skye Bank predicament should not be surprised and not alone many will still follow... I still remember vividly when ayeni, top echelon of the bank donated over 1bn to campaign fund of mutilated opposition before last generall election..

President Buhari, please when you finish with the Banking Sector, try to visit the oil Sector too to sanitize it. People are gradually seeing the reason why they are fighting you now.

The Nigerian Elite are the ones killing this Country. Can you imagine how many Billions is in the hands of a tiny few?and people wonder why our economy is so messed up? and one again, Goodluck Jonathan's name has come up in this story too, why is anything associated with that man an automatic and catastrophic failure?

I am sure if Jonathan had won the election, this fraud would not have been reported.

Back to the question. This Billions in the hands of these Bankers, who owns them?i am assuming all the monies belong to people banking with Skye bank. And if so, should these guys not be arrested?resigning is one thing, returning back the customers money is another thing. A very serious Financial Crime has just been committed at this Skye Bank.

It is just crazy, how those who claim to be so successful are nothing but leeches illegally living of the poor, from politicians to bank managers and every so called successful Nigerian entrepreneur. Buhari and EFCC continue your fight against corruption, chase, prosecute, strip them of their illegally gained wealth, lock them up (use China as an example anyone that looted more than N10 Million Naira should get a life sentence).

Reduce corruption by 80% watch Nigeria flourish - more inward investment, more jobs, better roads, electricity and better education. Nigeria needs to unshackle itself from corruption. Nigerias population is way too much so the death penalty to these crooks will help reduce the ever increasing population of the country. Buhari please tackle the fraud in the agriculture sector, many of these crooks are collecting agriculture grants, abusing agriculture foreign aid assistance programs, low interest loans and then diverting these funds for private jets, mansions, cars and lavish lifestyles, denying real farmers the opportunity to really grow this sector.

which bank in the world will grant you a loan and accept academic certificate as collateral? have you ever heard of such happening? even approaching the bank for a loan on such terms is a disgrace to whatever academic qualifications he has. what did he learn at school during ECONOMICS 101 lesson?

why did'nt he drop the certificate in leiu of the rent of a business premises or stock from a supplier? which sane individual will accept such does he think the world still operates by 'trade by barter'?

Pls think very well before posting or attacking some else. I think it was in the news one time that corpers could be given loans if they so desire and would have to put their NYSC cert up as collateral. It may have been a desperate move by the guy but not altogether foolish. If he couldn't get a job and has a brilliant idea and can't access fund, should he eat his cert. Second, banks are not landlord. Banks give loans and landlords don't. Even Bill Gates threw away his chances of obtaining a Harvad cert and opted for business. Now, the best minds bring their cert to get a job in his brain child. Think man. Just saying.

Sometimes when I read stories like this ,I would be speechless .... This country it's only God that can help us .....pple don't care about the poor and it's not good now ...no wonder Bible says it will be hard for the rich to make heaven ..... It's bad now ....graduates with potentials would want to get loan but the interest on it alone can cause heartattack and some go around spending this same money anyhow ... Why now
