A friend of mine urgently needs the help of an allergist.
I don't know if anyone here can recommend a certified one.
Thanks

Start your search from lookin for an immunologist first.
Unfortunately I don't know any, but could you give me a hint of what the problem is?
Re: Any Allergist In Nigeria? by Belqua(m): 8:41pm On Jul 06, 2016
ok
Been busy with exams and all.
I also had to understand his problem fully.

"As i was told, i started experiencing cough when i was 4 months old.
My dad said it was due to constant exposure to fan as i sweat a lot
as a kid due to epileptic power supply in my country.
Back then my mum would take me to my grand father for treatment
as he knows a lot about herbs.
I usually have the cough attack at night when i play football, run, take cold drink,
exposed to cold weather, dust or smoke during the day.
The cough is mostly dry and it causes severe chest pain that makes me cry and affects my breathing.
I breathe heavily, someone close to me can hear the sound.
Infact i rememeber vividly after coughing hard for hours, my
heart stopped beating for 3 seconds, i had to hit my chest hard
for it to continue beating.
When i was about 7 yrs old, after using lots of his herbal medication with no improvement i had
to visit IDH Yaba for treatment.
I was diagnosed of TB [Tuberculosis] but the mild type.
I was prescribed Zedex, Perilon, Ventolin and another drug i can't remember (it was the most expensive).
I only used the complete drug collection once as my parents could not afford all, i kept on using only zedex
when i had an attack at it worked well.
I used this for a long time [6yrs+] until i concluded the drug was too much.
I had used not less than 150 bottles of zedex.

I went back to IDH Yaba [Mainland Hospital] when i was around 15ys old, i was tested and told i had no TB
but was only allergic. (I don't know if the previous test was wrong or the TB got cured)

The doctor recommended D-Koff Syrup and others i can't remember.
Surprisingly after some months of using the drug, i didn't experience any attack for
months. [This was the first time ever, i won't experience an attack for over 4 months].

I decided to stop the drug, thinking i av been cured. 2 months after i stopped using the drug,
i started experiencing severe cattarh [it was as if the cough transformed to cattarh].

When i was 18 yrs old,i went back to IDH Yaba around Jan-march to complain and was told i had allergy.
He recommended some drugs which didn't work.
I came back the next year Feb to complain & he said i'm experiencing the attack around Febrauary period
alone due to whether changes to which i disagreed.
He referred me to an ENT specialist.
[Side Note:- Before then i had been using otrivin to clear my blocked nostrils]
My first visit to ENT specialist. He sent me for some tests at Me-Cure Lab Oshodi and told me
to stop the use of otrivin.
After going through the test he recommended A nose drop,Lorantide, vitamin C, Zinnat.
I used the drug set twice or trice and i noticed some improvement but it was not
as good as expected, so i went back to him and he replaced the nose drop with Avamys.

After judiciously using this for a while, the persistent cold, running nose & nostril blockage
was totally gone or so i though.
So i stopped using the drug, 2 months after i started experiencing persistent cough.
I switched to my old cough prescription and after some months of NO COUGH & i stopped
the drug. i started experiencing persisitent cold again.

I realised the cough and catarhh were just interchanging.

CONCLUSION
I am allergic to dust, cold weather or Air Conditioner, too much breeze (like when in a moving vehicle with windows open) etc.
I also noticed from criddle that i get tired easily.
e.g. If my mates play football for 70 mins before getting tired, i can only play 15 mins before getting tired.
same with running and other activities.
[I don't know if its due to lack of regular exercise or this ailment].
As i type this i am having cold and cough simultaneously.
I also think my allergic condition has been aggravated by the continuous use of cough drugs.

All i ask for is a Permanent Cure/Solution.
I am tired of temporary cure.
i don't mind the cost.
Thank You. "

u are not alone, many nigerians suffer from dis condition even me at one time, though urs may be a bit peculiar from ur childhood experience naration. For me am arllergic to soap foam lather when bathing. If mistakenly enters my nose it triggers of catar, if i pass through some local herb markets some of those stuffs when one is exposed for too long can also induce catarr. If its for d cattarr itself i can speak confidently that i ve already have d herbal and dieting cure. On getting tired easily : does ur heart beat fast and painfully?.

well, I suffered similar if not the same thing. Initially it was said I had klebsiella pneumonia or so but latter it was discovered that I am allergic to dust, whether and the likes so predonosolin ( I don't knw if I am correct) was administered to I got better only for few months. But Zaditen appears to be more effective. This is because it makes the body cells to adapt to the source of the allegery. So I think u should try it. Meanwhile consult ur physician and try as much as possible to stay away from the sources of the allegery.

I'd like to know more about the herbal & dieting cure.

Will really appreciate your response.
Thanks.
