Allow me to remind us that this trick only works for Android Lollipop 5.0 upwards. This ia because other android versions already have this function so there is no need to configure. This is an example of what I mean

Now back to the matter, the secret of this configuration is that it uses what is called "UI tuner" which is hidden in the settings. After unlocking the UI tuner you will be able to display battery configuration.

To unlock UI tuner, draw down the screen of your phone like this below:

You can see the settings icon at the top right of the screen? Hold down this icon for up to 10 seconds and release till you see the following message like this: "System UI tuner has been added to settings"

Now go to settings and locate system UI tuner at the bottom of the screen. Inside the UI settings "on" show embedded battery percentage". There you have it. The battery percentage will be on display just like that. If you want to turn off UI tuner hold down the settings icon at the drawer for up to 10 seconds and release. As easy as that. Actually, system ui tuner is only for 6.0 marshmallow

Lol. What's with the long process?
Just tap your battery Icon and tick " Show battery percent on status bar".
