The Lagos State Governor, after the gruesome murder of a street hawker on a Lagos Highway, made a rule forbidding any street hawker to trade on Lagos roads and henceforth made a criminal offence if any one is caught in the act.

The rule or law ought to have been in place by now but it seems the hawkers are defying that orders and still ply their trade along the ever busy Lagos roads. This is as seen in some parts of the state today.

Yes it could be okay for a Governor to make such orders, but what plans have been put in place to absorb these guys into the society. They fail to understand that we are in a 3rd world and these sorts of things cannot be abolished over night. This is the source of living of these guys and these means are even what most companies utilize to sell their products fast.
