Is It Morally Right For A Pastor To Use A Phone To Read Out Bible? by refiner(f): 8:15am On Jul 10, 2016 |
Good morning and merry Sunday friends... I don't seem to get a satisfactory answer to these...and I think here might be in a better position to give me the answers I crave for... in my church,*name undisclosed*the pastor uses a phone to read bible....but I wish to ask if it's morally right for a pastor to use a phone to read bible while preaching... it maybe ignored if it was being used by a member, but we are talking about a pastor here, who stands by the pulpit to preach the word of God...but instead of the bible,he uses a phone... 6 Likes 1 Share |

i dont understand u pple oo...is it like the pastor is going to different heaven from u..no wonder folks believe there pastor this days more than scriptures. the question shld be is it validated by scriptures..not weather a pastor does it or not..thats how pastors turn to demi gods. In this case it is legally right, scripturally right, leave morals to moralists...cc:refiner 38 Likes

I don't see anything wrong with using a phone or tablet as your Bible. The medium you use is of no importance. What is important there is the undiluted word of God. As long as it has not been tampered with there is no problem. We worry too much over wrong things. Bible was not initially written like as we have it now in paper. The printing innovation came and it was fully made used of and now this (e-bible) is the new innovation. I will say embrace it. 119 Likes 6 Shares |

I see this question as the testament of the level of sophistication of many Nigerians. At the period when the bible was written, people used scrolls to document and even in the synagogues, they carried around scrolls and parchment. Recording in books was invented later on, it was more flexible and easier to carry than the older scrolls and parchments. Most of the ancient texts including the books of the bible where transferred to paper books. Now we are in the age of Ebooks, Pdf, Epub, apps which is far more easier to carry than books and can contain lots and lots of information in the same surface area or smaller, and someone is asking if its morally right? Smh... 83 Likes 8 Shares |

There is nothing wrong with it op. Some phones are so cute they even read out the scripts for you. After all there is no place It's written in the bible that "thou shall not read thy scriptures from a phone" 21 Likes 1 Share |

Cells and Smart phones are part of the Goodness and Life of God bestowed on us from the Directives, Knowledge, Discernment and Understanding of God. That Pastor is a civilized one using a Weapon of God in his hand to deliver a Message of God. Our wrists sometimes pain when we carry heavy Bible around. Please pray that God may improve His Knowledge in humans to communicate His Messages better. 8 Likes |

To elkonS, eph12, donnffd, tolugar, and orisa37: I applaud your indepth thoughts. You guys aren't following religion gullibly as others. You all are also a confirmation of THINK BEFORE YOU TALK. ******* ******** Majority of church goers and Bible-readers don't even know that the 'paged bibles' they carry around today were a 'comfortable design' so that WORDs OF GOD are easily and comfortably movable! The things scrolls and parchments could not accomplish. Now, refiner, dollyjoy, RadicallyBlunt and a host of others who are of like minds are encouraged to check James1:5 from a conventional Bible (make sure not to use your phones ) then take it up from there. ******* ****** Thank you. 9 Likes |

refiner:There is nothing wrong with it as long as the word of God is being preached and the message is passed to the members. ..It is all about convieniece.. .. Remember that the original word of God were written in very big scrolls and not Bible..The Bible was done because it is convenient and easy to carry around. ..Same with e Bible now, so if you want to criticize the man, go and carry the real word of God written in scrolls up and down when going to church and see if you will be comfortable. 4 Likes |

Very right. Inasmuch as he is reading the word of God. He can use laptop, iPad, phone etc. Besides the phone makes it easier for him to locate verses without wasting time. 4 Likes 1 Share |

yes, it's morally right. just try and avoid distractions. Some people will say, "how will yhu use a phone containing x-rated materials, to read the word of God in church." but i stand to tell y'all. A person with the oldest original version of the Bible, with a lascivious mind, is in no form different from a porn star. 3 Likes |

Lol. See question o. A time is coming when there will be nothing like physical books again. When the storage, battery technology and cost issues are perfected all information will be digital and books will be phased out. Your great grandchildren will have to go to a museum to see what a book looks like. The Bible is all about the content inside it not the physical medium in which it is carried. 5 Likes |

There was a time when some churches dont watch television, but now u see ther pastors almost all the TV stations both on local n foreign channels to the extent of having ther own tv station. If na nw Jesus come earth He will not ride horse from Nigeria to Rome. Shey u will nw be asking if it is right or wrong to board to plane or jet from Nigeria to Rome Things keep on changing with time, but the wrong use of it should be questioned. Thank God is not watching porn on his fone My sister i dont think is wrong! 3 Likes |
