I certainly do not see anything wrong with a Pastor, a man of God or anybody whatsoever, using phone or any electronic devices to access the bible. We are in a world of technology which has made most things easier. The bible has different versions such as King James, Good news, English Translation, New King James, New International Version etc. When a Pastor is preaching, he may have cause to use these different versions of the bible for understanding purposes, technology makes it easier for him to access them and save time that would have make him carry maybe about 3 different bibles and start flipping through them. I conclusion, it nothing, even in many foreign churches these days, the pastors now rely on the projectors for bible references. 1 Like |

Nigeria and our over sabi, ehn oyinbo way bring is the religion always look at us and laugh, so what is wrong with reading the bible from phone us it not the same thing, in fact did u know that the bible u know today was merged together by someone, that it was once written in scrolls, tablet , stones, papyrus etc , that the original bible does not have the present chapters and verse, it was someone that did that, that there are other gospel of the Bible that were not included? Eg gospel if st Thomas, Judas , Mary magdalena etc , did u even know that it was once a crime to read the bible on ur own or even own one? Go to YouTube and search who wrote the bible 1 Like |

oladipo322:Oga, if you really want to give God the respect, then you should go and look for the scrolls that the original word of God was written and start using not the Bible.. .After you have done this then you can open mouth to talk. 3 Likes |

I see a lot of people here are very myopic in reasoning including d op. What is wrong with a smart phone? Is it only porn that u people watch on it? Even if that's what u do, its not everybody that does that. Did god write the first law on a paper book? For pete's sake it was on a tablet of stones. Things then upgraded to animal skins (scrolls) then to paper. Today we have electonic devices that we read books from. What is wrong with that? Am a free thinker, not a churchy person but I can say 90% of those that claim christianity(especially africans) are lost! They dont know wat dey are even doing. 1 Like |

Why are many people full of critical spirits ..they see everything a man of God do as wrong,as long as it is a man of God. But if it were to be ordinary member of the church, there is nothing wrong .. Where is it written that it is a sin to read the word of God on phones or other tablets ? What God is concerned about is the spreading of his word. What of places whereby somebody can not carry the bible in the open to read it. Places where it is an offence to read the bible..will it be wrong also to read through the phones? 1 Like |

refiner: Do you require a bible or phone to quote john 3:16? The word of God is spirit and whether you read it out from a stone, a book or a phone (of course the phone should at best be on airplane mode to avoid distacting calls) doesn't matter. In fact if you can cram the entire bible and read passages by heart, that's awesome because God prefers His word to be written in your heart. |

refiner: CONVENIENCE..... Just because you physically step in a university premises does not mean you have pass out from the school. You have to go through the rigors and exercises the school has to offer. It doesn't matter the form. What you should has is....is the person preaching passing the right message across in accordance to God's words? The whole world is a web now. New and old information can readily be access through apps by anyone despite their location. I find myself in places I didn't plan I have little excuse to attend meetings or prepare for since I have everything in the of my hands. Check out JW.ORG. Buikechukwu35:I am tempted to conclude you are an idol worshipper. Your type will place Bible under your pillow and puts your faith in it for protection. Your question reveals who you really are. You may not know it or willingly be doing it, but you're worshipping an object, instead of GOD, and placing faith in it for protection. Emeka71:I don't like it when people mislead others. e-Bibles are electronic copies of already known translations such as King James, New International Version, and so forth. Can you please show me a portion of an e-Bible that is misquoted? I await screenshot. oladipo322:So paper is not technology? What exactly is wrong with out thought-process? 1 Like 1 Share |

refiner:I'll say it depends on the congregation, their level of exposure. in a local congregation, it may look wrong, people will just be looking at him like 'which kind pastor be this?' to them, its a big deal, but some congregation won't even notice a iPad, tablet or phone In the hand of the pastor, that's what Apostle Paul was talking about when he said 'if eating meat will make m brother sin, I will rather not eat meat. 2 Likes 1 Share |

This is the religiosity in Christianity that needs to be checked. The word: It started from thought forms and inspirations. It went into scrolls (only few read it out to others and then store it back) It went into few books (only few had right over it, others read bulletins) It went into more books (big and weighty but anyone could buy) It went into more books (compressed and light to carry. Religiosity said small Bibles trivialize the gospel) Then it went in smart devices for fastest search (Religiosity said it's insulting to carry and read Bible from smart devices. However, most part of their lives are in smart devices. Makes me wonder if religiosity really still believes that God lives in church buildings and not in faithfuls wherever they may be. Oh, religiosity! 2 Likes |

refiner:There is absolutely nothing wrong with it but let me explain. This is an issue that comes up frequently in my Church. The chaplain discourages this but several other members, including the assistant chaplain (preaches with an iPad) still make use of their mobile devices to access Bibles. I think it is simply a personal issue. I have assessed those in my Church that are openly averse to the use of phones to read the Bible, and they all fall into what I would describe as the old school brigade. Not really because of their ages, but because they are not technologically in tune with the present day. Other reasons may be to avoid getting distracted by other apps in the phone. So, it is a matter of what gives one a clear conscience. If it bothers you, use the book Bible. But as long as your mind is not accusing you, you are free. In Bible study classes, we were told to study different versions of the Bible to have a better understanding of the scripture and you will agree that mobile devices are the cheapest and most effective means of having access to any number of Bible versions. 1 Like |
