Its really sad were we have found ourselves in this country. I thought the tribal sentiments and abuse was only on social media fora untill recent. A colleague who have been putting up with me for some months in lagos decided to get his small apartment since he was expecting his twin brother to join him soon . The experience was not wat he envisaged. The first Landlady that was approached started it all. Despite her level of Education and enlightenment, The unilag lecturer was not willing to give her vacant room to my friend siting reasons that igbo people are very troublesome and that when one collects a room they go and bring everybody from their village to come n occupy the room. When this occurred we felt the woman was just being unnecessary difficult untill he went to two other vacants houses. You wont believe the hatred, discrimination and stigma he went through just because he is igbo. One of the landlords even told him that he cant give his house to him immediately the guy told him is name. Thank God he finally secured an apartment though with inhuman conditions, he was even told that if he brings in any other person to the house apart from his twin brother that they will throw his things out and return his balance. Why are we still one Nigeria if one will be discriminated uopn in his own country. I think this one Nigeria thing is a fraud. Lets allow place for a referendum. The unity of Nigerian must be Negotiable.
