This is much appreciated.

Thanks for shedding light into this issue.

Good morning TosTos

tosyne2much:
In as much as maturity has kept us mute ever since people have been complaining on this very thread; well, I will break the silence by saying that the host wants things done in his own way and myself and Wristbangle are way too matured above doing things that will make us look like we are exceeding our jurisdiction or forcing someone to give us a chance to do feature in something. Since someone feels a head is better than two and can do it all alone, we don't have a say.

While I'm preoccupied with school activities, Wristbangle on the other hand is preoccupied with his job, so, we are not as jobless as people think. Our world does not revolve around Mr/Miss Nairaland contest and we aren't attention seekers. We only squeeze time out of our tight schedule to conduct the interview thing. Whether we conduct the interview or not, the con
test will always hold

I hope I have answered your question

why not have a sort of preliminary elimination or qualifying stage and fish out unserious contestants. i believe not all the so called 30 contestants will be ready or are serious for this contest.
in that way, the number will be reduce and real contestants will emerge for the interview and subsequent processes to elect the new mr nairaland. thanks

Good morning TosTos

There is no light in that. Tosyne2much has drawn his conclusions too hastily and I'm still at a loss on why he made that post.

We haven't had any discussion about this recently and coming on here to make that kind of post when ideally conducting the interview was a personal discussion hurts. It's difficult to make any comments regarding the interview cos of that comment.

Note that if I didn't want anyone handling the interview I wouldn't have let it hold in the first place. Nobody requested for it. It wasn't part of the process in the past. But I incorporated it and now I'm still the devil here.

We just cannot predict one another can we?

This is being considered. We're only trying to figure out a way to create a fair playground for all.

But as it is now, they might all have to be interviewed before anything else. You get?

you need to move on from what tonye said before it degenerate to something unpleasant. you are the umpire, so quench the wire, i love the maturity in which you reply the op, so let it die there.
Moreover if you feel some people are no longer compatible working with you, you do the needful, last time i checked, you are still the umpire

That's not even the case. It just hurts seeing comments like that.

I've been attacked since the start of this contest and nothing has gotten to me. That one did get to me. To be honest.

Thank you very much though.

The issue has been sorted out as we are back on track to make the competition a huge success.

Dygeasy, I salute your great effort from the start of the competition. Being a leader comes with lot of responsibilities, disagreements, tackles and others.

Apologies for being hurt as regards tosyne2much comment and I don't want you to see it from a derogatory view.

Yh, the fact that you birthed the interview session is very much appreciated . It will only be fair to just allow the process continue so as to ensure a level playing ground for everyone. I know it's not easy on you but I'll implore you to allow capable and trusted hands into your circle to reduce the task load.

Tinubu has not been indicted or found guilty by any body or institution.

You have been found guilty of breaking campaign rules yesterday and a two weeks ban was pronounced on you.

The correlation with your case with that of Tinubu is a logical fallacy. You're dumb bro. No wonder you resorted to cultism to give your life a meaning.

And you led poor Refiner to her Campaign death with your dumb strategies. Any other person would have taken her to greater heights given her looks. But not you.

I wanted to avoid clumsiness and dragging of the whole process for too long. I had no idea the interview guys felt I was shutting them out and taking all the glory or credit.

The interview was only fully incorporated this year so I don't get where all the grouse and energy is coming from.

I just hope they're able to figure out a way to interview 28 guys and achieving the purpose of the interview within a short time. It might as well take a long time anyway.

The interview isn't even my work! I'm sorry guys. I was considering the human beings (and not robots) that do the work. The interviews will hold. The contestants should be prepared.

I'd resolved to restrain from being actively involved in the brewing controversy but not when I see hypocrital comments like yours.

Mizmycoli, have you no shame? Even when you've been discarded like a piece of soiled rag, you still not-so-subtly try to force your way into the laundered pile of fine garments.

You'd even eat poo just to stay relevant and to score cheap brownie points to further the need to always seek validation.

Everything about you is pure attention-seeking. Little wonder you're infamous as Nairaland's hypocrite numero uno.

Tosin sure made valid points and his courage to be candidly opinionated sure stands him out in the assembly of hypocrites like you.

Shame on you, sycophantic favour-seeking hypocrite!

Boss, everything is not the way it is painted.

That some of us aren't in the many cliques a lot of Nairaland members are in doesn't make things said about us true.

I bet everything you know about me is all hearsay. You haven't related with me before and a lot of other people haven't. Tosin might be opinionated, it still doesn't make him right. I have only chosen not to turn this issue into something we'll keep dragging back and forth. I chose to be respectful even with all the jibes being thrown around.

That being said, MizMyColi remains one of the reasons the contest is a success that it is. Have you noticed every member of the organizing team haven't been showing up? They want it that way, and there are wonderful and amazing people putting in a lot of efforts to make this work. It's not all me. Trust me. So you might as well sheathe your "sword" of words because you have only heard a one sided story if you heard a story.

In my candid opinion. The Mr and Mrs Nairaland contest is a tacit waste of time. Imagine most of the contestants are actually student, but, yes but, you never see them partake in contest like The Nairaland Inter-School Debate or The Nairaland Poetry Club Competition.

They always flock around this Mr and Mrs Nairaland contest, why, its obvious, because you don't need any ounce of intelligence to win, just get people to campaign for you, and let people vote based on who is popular, then voila!. You're home free!.

That ikpeke won base on the nonchalant attitudes of the organisers/sponsors. It got to a time i thought the competition was cancelled. Most nairalanders didn't even vote compared to last year voting...like me for example

We're , by default, only privy to what transpires on the pages of Nairaland. Maybe it's just a coincidence but Tosin's last outburst was what catalysed the decision to let the status quo remain. Then again, maybe it's more than a coincidence.

That opined, 'Coli's post is sycophantic and the sheer hypocrisy and reeking pseudo-sanctimonious leaning of it is what I castigated.
