saintdennis: The problem is turning every argument into PMB vs GEJ what happens to the real issue FG vs the masses. Point of correction amnesty started in Yaradu's administration. The sensible thing the FG should have done was to continue the program and ensure that pressing problem of the ND that gave rise to the agitation in the first place is solved. Once the problem is solved there is no moral ground for the agitators to continue. As long as the problem of ND is not address there will always be moral ground for agitation. Cleaning up ND alone will not solve anything |

Kekeiyke: Yoruba people getting what they want out of Nigeria didn't happen by accident, it's because of their world view, societal culture and way of life that breeds pluralism, welcoming attitude, peace over destructive confrontation, pragmatism and strategic thinking. These are traits that ibo people wont adopt and have refused to adopt. Yoruba people wont refuse to reach out to other people for common good and things that benefits them and move them forward, but ibo people can not do that simply because they are not wired that way, they don't think and operate like that and even their parents and leaders don't teach togetherness, it's always a case of us against them. ibo people in Nigeria today won't mind working against their own interest if that interest is going to benefit their imagined enemies, they'd rather suffer than do what's best for them, their interest and future. Look at the last election and the situation of things in Nigeria today, they followed the PDP for 16 years and came up empty handed, even their 2nd NB remains a mirage, but they'd rather keep following the same empty and fruitless path with the same PDP. Look at the 2nd Niger bridge and the Lagos Calabar rail line in their backyard, when NASS gutted the budget for the bridge and the railway system, they supported the NASS, insulted the President and his party when in fact their anger should have been directed at the NASS, but they don't care about their own interest as long as they get to insult other people and their imagined enemies. You can not progress with this us against them by any means necessary attitude and when you refused to reach out and engage to protect your own interests, you marginalize yourself. Yoruba people or Hausa people can not make you or force you to change your ways, they can not make or force you to grow good and credible leaders capable enough to tell you the truth or make alliance with other regions in Nigeria needed to achieve your goals. The choice is yours and million Wole Soyinka can not do that for you. Mr Igbokwe is right and he's not saying anything new, you know it;s the truth because the rest of the world knows.. 4 Likes 1 Share |

SuperS1Panther: Peace? Which peace? When has Nigeria been at peace? And which sovereignty? The one Lord Lugard gave you? How can a white man come to Africa to give you your sovereignty or country? Which Nation Assembly did Lugard go to when he made you a Nigerian? What contract did we sign to be one nation? You are asking people to seek justice in a court of equity when you neither know what equity is or the direction of where court is. You said in a previous post that the secessionist killed people? Prove it! YouTube is awash with videos and pictures of the muderous Nigerian security forces shooting and killing unarmed protesters from the high School in Aba to Portharcourt to Asaba to Onitsha. Produce one link or proof that the secessionst have killed anyone despite all the provocations they have endured. Produce something tangible besides mere Internet gossip or just shut up. 1 Like |

What is it with Ndigbo and greed? How long are we going to kill ourselves? Isn’t it a gargantuan shame that a tribe as populous as Ndigbo can’t provide a single individual that is seen to be credible enough to be elected president of Nigeria? A casual observation of the performances of the governors of the south eastern states will reveal their level of under-performance since 1999. Case point, take Aba which has failed to enjoy any meaningful development since the 1929 Aba women riot. The place is a total mess. What have the governors done with what has been accruing to the state in the last 16 years of democratic rule? The fact that these individuals who have mismanaged fortunes of the state consider themselves fit to even contest election is a slap on the faces of Ndigbo. Ndigbo, are we cursed? The red-cap goons known as Ohaneze do nothing but crawl from one place to another offering themselves for sale and for use. This has been their money-making scheme for too long and it can no longer hold water. Can’t we take a cue from the style Dangote adopted and made a kill? The Yoruba have already adopted it and it is working. We have to restrategise to become that economic power house we crave. The idea that every Igboman who makes money whether through his ingenuity or by accident becomes misguided and begins to push for political office even though they are clearly not professional politicians should be discarded. -Igbo leaders a disgrace - Etcetera writes That wasn't Mr Igbokwe, but their views are not too much apart.. |

I was wondering what has made them run mad again only to see this thread!! Useless idiots. Insults insults and insults is all they do, single objective thoughts they can NEVER process. Yesterday it was one other Igbo guy that wrote a masterpiece on their foolish behaviour especially their rants and misplaced hatred for everyone- of course, true to type, they rained insults upon him. Some of the cowardly idiots are only good at hiding behind others to like and quote their insults. Na so dem take harass and torment TonyeBarcanista until him tender apology to them. omenka: I saw their venom, hate, anger and attacks coming from a million miles away... Even sef, their hate and twisted mentality is not limited to other people. Any ibo man who reached out to other regions is evil and must be ostracized, ridiculed and insulted. Look at Okorocha in Imo, he's the most hated man in iboland. If Okorocha build bridge in Imo, they'll trash him, call him names and discount and discredit his achievements, but if obiano in anambra build the same bridge, thy shout and call him a hero, they'll label him the best president IN Nigeria. The level of hate in their heart is too deep to be lifted even with forklift 4 Likes |

I have followed this dangerous trend over a year now, and it is not abetting. It is growing like wild fire everyday. In recent times the South-South people whose son lost the election have moved on except the criminal avengers who are fighting for their pockets only and destroying their environment. I have seen spirited and genuine efforts being made by the leaders of South-South to bring peace to the Niger Delta, and I heartily commend them for this. It is in their own interest. Awon abobaku... |

maclatunji:They WILL NEVER change. The little chance they had of acting human was eroded by the pirate radio established by that bleached Bonobo Monkey in Kuje. Imagine how Nairaland was before 2015 election- we never had all this nonsense, but since Jonathan's loss, they took it upon themselves to divide this country along ethnic and religious lines. Go to facebook, twitter and other social media, the story is the same! All they do is insult everyone who opposes their views and call them slaves. Who did that before the elections?? Even the people of Niger Delta have been more respectable in defeat than them- Orubebe's outburst notwithstanding. Imagine the venom directed at the writer for saying what everyone knows is the blatant truth. Even Okorocha isn't spared- all because he aligns with APC!! Their kind of hatred is that which would lead to no one else's but their very own destruction. Instead of building bridges, they've become adept at destroying, making enemies for themselves at every turn thinking that connotes BRAVERY- how deluded can a people be really?? 2 Likes |

ihatesycophant:Dude I ain't no damn sycophant, FYI I freaking hate PDP(the messed up my State) ..... All I'm saying is an inclusive Government SIMPLE!!!! On the fact the appointments don't benefit the tribe is story for another day, but if I should follow ur logic Northerners are in the topmost positions in the Country, the have ruled the nation more than any other tribe, but their region still remains the worst in terms of infrastructure, Education, Security, housing, Civilization so direct ur logic to Atiku, Abacha, Gowon, Danjuma, Buhari, Dangote etc I fight for no bloody politician unlike you, I'm just against Buhari's mode of Governance.... How can a freaking President say he wouldn't treat every citizen of his Government(Country) equally... 97% 5%... And that has clearly been reflected in his Government... And you payed APC apologists expect the Igbo Nation(which is being marginalized) to play Sycophancy On building legacies, I'm only Grateful to the Almighty God for HIS Grace and goodness in my family background and my personal life.... Here is a faceless forum, but don't assume that you are better financially, intellectually etc than me you may be so wrong |

woodcook: Bro it's always gotta be pmb vs gej cos u always measure an incumbent against his predecessor . That's life. Guy amnesty was put together by gej we all know that, he was charged with executing it infact he got on the ticket cos he was from the ss. Now NOBODY Scrapped amnesty they wanted to review the programme a new individual was employed wanted to go more progressive rather than keep paying for phantom services. They withdrew the pipeline contract (that's the main wahala) Yes they tried 'changing' things too soon...but going back to the creeks is pure evidence that the amnesty programme failed miserably #simple I put it to you that oil bunkering continued by these militants in lagos, ogun, ondo not even reduced to ND alone. So pls I keep telling people that last confab was a waste because the true issues weren't even on the table. #simple All these agitation could have been put forward in a real confab. Sorry if i'm digressing All i'm saying is the speed which these militants took up arms is mind buggling |

gwales: Not exactly. In the many names published on corruption, very few are from the east. Quite a few as they are largely independent self help people and hardly in government. But I kind of think that the anti-buhari sentiment was created by Buhari himself when he made the statement. Lets not forget; President Buhari looked at Dr. Baker and said, “I hope you have a copy of the election results. The constituents, for example, gave me 97% [of the vote] cannot in all honesty be treated on some issues with constituencies that gave me 5%.” “I think these are political reality,” the President added. http://saharareporters.com/2015/07/25/buhari%E2%80%99s-statement-us-institute-peace-made-everyone-cringe-0 In my estimation, a president of a loose multi-ethnic country like Nigeria should not have made such comment. He is the president of Nigeria and not the people that voted for him, after all Texans will not vote democrats. You have blue and red states but whoever emerges president of the USA never makes such divisive statement. So lets cut these guys some slack for maintaining the posture. Its natural response. They are uncertain about their fate in the government and the appointments have not helped the sentiments. the government should reach out and launch an image and reconciliation program. 2 Likes |

omenka:So only Igbos exhibit the HATRED Or you except love and happiness when you lots continue to mock and show disdain for the Igbo Nation, up till the extent of celebrating when the are murdered, imprisoned by security agents or herdsmen HATRED is a two way thing.... How well has ur saviour(Buhari) done in calming the tension in the South East, he obviously doesn't give a fuccck about Igbos, so we are just returning the Gesture U guys keep insulting nd mocking Igbos as ur regular timetable nd u except sudden love and Patriotism from them shitt don't happen like that.... On building bridges, last time I checked, I think majority of my fellow Igbos want an exit from this Entity, so what bridge are u talking about or don't you understand what IPOB or Biafra means ....... Hypocrisy is always guiding you, so it is now only Igbos that are dividing the Country along ethnic nd religious lines, not ur beloved Tribalistic nd bigoted President... Mcowubaba: The most important thing and political requirement demand made by Igbo people in the past 30 years is 2nd NB, the people you followed and the PDP for 16 years gave you nothing but worthless and broken promises, even the GEJ you still call your hero vowed to go into exile if that bridge was not built by him, well, he didn't build it and he's still not in exile and you people even love him more than ever. Fast forward to your post above, the man you just trashed finally put money on the table and also inserted the bridge into his budget to make sure it gets built and you still want the sensible, sane and rational world to believe that he doesn't give a damn about you, but the people who lied to you, the people who sold you lemon promises for your votes and refused to build the bridge really care and are worthy enough to be praised and be your hero.? You see why it's also very hard to take you people seriously or conclude that your ways are not hateful, meanspirited and misguided? |

saintdennis: You are not I understand that the issues at hand encompass other smaller issues which need to be highlighted as well. Your assertions are not far from the truth. The speed at which they took up arm is an indication that they were never disarmed in the first place or that there are other external interest waiting to arm them as soon as possible - oil bunkering and smuggling seem to pay the external forces better than buying at official prices. I would disagree that the last confab report was a total waste, I still believe that there are value items from that reports that should be implemented and I also believe that the best way to have sorted out this issue was to continue with the payment until we get a permanent solution. From the look of things FGN is the one loosing out because this guys will always have a ready market for the oil which the government was supposedly to be selling. You are right that the argument has been about GEJ and PMB but I personally think that is where we the masses have been getting it wrong. Just imagine if you can reduce every GEJ vs PMB argument to FGN vs the masses? This line of argument will make the masses start thinking of issues that affects them and how best to go about it rather than dwelling on PMB and GEJ failures/achievement. The other bitter truth is whatever happens from here forward has little or no effect on the lives of GEJ/PMB and their families. Which is why I think we should strive to wove our argument and position around the FGN vs the masses. Leaving it at GEJ/PMB level of argument makes nonsense of the plight of the common man on the street. |
