No major company in kwara state, the rich only invest in hotels and petrol stations.
Kwara state is still backward compared to osun not to talk of bigger states.

The op is correct. He was not referring to Ilorin residents, he was talking about Ilorin indigenes. There has been a lot of intermarriage between the yoruba and fulani people of Ilorin over the years. Most of the yoruba looking and speaking indigenes of Ilorin are actually of Fulani descent. There are many yorubas but those of fulani descent are more. Note: Leave out non indigenes who are just residents and migrants.

Ilorin is overwhelmingly Yoruba and that is why Yoruba language could become the dominant language of the city, the Fulanis in Ilorin and Kwara are infact the smallest minority.

This your claim can never stand in the face of concrete evidence and vivid scrutiny.
How did Yoruba become the dominant language of Ilorin if the city's original Fulani settlers outnumber the Yoruba aboriginals? Does that make any sense to you? Ilorin that was originally a big bustling Oyo town before Fulani even knew it existed.
Ilorin, a city barely 30km from Offa Olalomi, 34 km from gigantic Ogbomosho, 40km from Igbeti, 25 km from Ajashe Ipo, 31 km from Oro, is majority originally Fulani?
Even Jebba on the South bank of river Niger is majority Yoruba, not to talk of Ilorin that has every practical feel of a typical SW city with Islamic flavour. Actual Fulanis in Ilorin (even the older ones) still stick out like a sore thumb and look like migrants till today, while Yoruba immigrants into the city just blend in seamlessly.

This your write up is damaging.
Let me Explain Kwara state to you in a nutshell and as fast/quick as I can....

There are 16 LGAs in Kwara state.
12 are Yoruba dominated including those of the Ilorin metropolis, however there exists a small pocket of Fulani political class within the city who wield a lot of influence (disproportionately so) due to Northern backing, as well as nomadic Fulanis spread across the state with their cattle just like in every other part of Nigeria.

2 LGAs is Nupe dominated, they are Edu and Patigi
2 local governments are Bariba dominated and also very sparsely populated (Kaiama and Baruten)
These Nupe and Bariba LGs together with Moro make up Kwara North. The other 11 are in Kwara central and South.
Among the Yoruba stock, the Igbominas are the majority, but 2 local governments are ethnically Ekiti (Oke Ero and Ekiti LG), then there are also the Oyos and the Ibolos who make up a significant proportion of the Yorubas in the state, as well as a very small Yagba population.

i live in kwara in Oro we dont need to argue over this, the roads in kwara are very poor and there is no meaningful inprovement i hav travelled to many places within the state there is no road construction in any area go to other states go to Oyo,Ekiti,ondo,Osun you will know that kwara has nothing to show forth in terms of road construction

WELL compare Kwara with states in, Swest thought folks said Kwaran are Fulani and nothrrners............

You are right, that the "northern looking" dresing seem to be a popular feature of Ilorinite muslims, But do not let the dressing deceive you, it is more an indicator of Islamic influence than Fulani/northern presence, if anything.
Also, the Nupes and Baribas who also live in Ilorin (Being the capital) seem to have lost many elements of their original culture.
The Nupes themselves are campaigning for an Edu state (You can google up their agitation) to be carved out from their local governments in Kwara and Niger, because those in Kwara are tired of Yoruba cultural domination, while those in Niger are tired of Hausa-Fulani and even gbagyi political dominance.

No functional TV Station, majority depends on cable TV except functional FM station like Royalfm, Unilorinfm, Harmony, Radiokwara and Raypower. More need to be done as regards media broadcasting house or infastructures.

I work and reside in Ilorin.

Ilorin is a peaceful city.
