If your school is listed, maybe you need to think about that school . For example i heard of someone getting visa for Stratford University this fall and another posted in a recent transcript but see it might be on the blacklisted school . If u are going to Stratford u might just be delayed at POE and if you are not delayed please consider the quality of d school u want to spend thousands of dollars in .... . if you know of anyone going to these schools please alert them

Post: #16 Black listed Universities in US
TO ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FROM INDIA

Before you arrive, I want to warn you about some problems students from India are experiencing. There are a number of U.S. based universities, that are not regionally accredited, that are recruiting students from India to their schools. These schools are schools such as:

Tri-Valley University (recently closed by the US Federal Government)
Stratford University
The University of Northern Virginia
International Technical University
CA Takshila University
Herguan University

****(the full list is in google if you type blacklisted schools USA)

The only schools in the USA that an international student should attend are schools that are REGIONALLY ACCREDITED.

If you attend a school that does not have this type of accreditation, you will not be able to use your degree to continue to a higher degree in the USA, nor will you be able to transfer courses you have taken at a non-regionally accredited school, to a school that has regional accreditation.

You would be doing a great disservice to yourself, and to your family, who pays for your education to attend such schools.
The following web site is the official U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education listing of regionally accredited post-secondary universities, colleges and programs.

Please consult this website when checking on the accreditation of any university in the USA.

Yeah I remembered that guy he didn't know he's course requirement he ask the V.O to repeat himself like 2 to 3 times and was clueless that was the time I sensed trouble
LCHR:
My visa was approved Thursday, 6:30 a.m appointment. I was interviewed at Window5, and the interview lasted between 2-3 minutes. It was so quick that people with short attention span wouldn't notice what transpired between the VO and me. The VO at this Window didn't ask his interviewees the generic questions like that. " What is the program requirements, and tell me about the program", were his next statements after greeting you. I noticed other VOs were asking almost the same questions, so I concluded that they had met to come up with this alien questions. The VO denied the guy he interviewed immediately before me because he didn't know the program requirements and couldnt say any a salient thing about the program. He bothered the VO a bit in his repeated attempts to drive home a point. Struggling to redeem his losing battle, the guy incoherence and inconsistencies ironically grew worse, and frustration was all over him. Worse still he was not concealing his disappointment (actions and interjections were too obvious). May God save us from calamities. After he was overwhelmed, he resorted to begging and delaying tactics of asking to repeat a clear and loud question. The VO beckoned to me to step forward after he ultimately told him to reapply for visa whenever he knows his program well. I tarried for a bosses, waiting for the guy to please himself.

VO: GOOD MORNING (encouraging countenance, he just came back from a battle)
ME: GOOD MORNING,SIR
VO: HOW DID YOU ABOUT THE SCHOOL?
ME: internet, I searched for top 100 universities for my program. Another question cut me short.
VO: WHAT'S THE PROGRAM ALL ABOUT?
ME: I will do course work, research work and there is an international exchange program to either China or Switzerland.
VO: WHO IS YOUR SPONSOR?
ME: My father
VO: WHAT DOES HE DO?
ME: He is a structural engineer, has a construction company where he builds caponies for gas and petrol stations( my fairy tale was interrupted)
VO: TAKE THIS........( I don't know the rest because I was inattentive now)

Gratitude to God? Definitely YES.
Gratitude to Nairalanders? YES. The weak and powerful ones, no veterans, novices, wannabes and scammers.

but I've not seen a single transcript here with family based interviews.
Does it mean chances of obtaining multiple F1 and F2 visas are slim? or intending married students find it easier to apply alone?

Maybe these two can help you as they did family visa, if you click on the name the full transcript would come up ...... Personally i think it not slim but just the same chances with the regular F1 visa with more financial requirement if asked (additional $4k for spouse and $3k per child ) . Most times they hardly ask . You just have to demonstrate you are a credible student who will come back like a Single F1 . Maybe prepare to be asked a question regarding Ties to Nigeria

how it went down and my transcript below..
I got to the embassy around 5am. My appointment was for 6:30am.

Alright ma, Thanks.

that means I'll have to make enquiries about the schools with such a connection

i would say focus on " murder the GRE n TOEFL" ...... it will open up opportunities for you in good school and for Funding opportunities if you murder it well. I always suggesting writing the exam first then you will know where you stand in terms of application ...

In terms of Schools with those connections, check the ranking of your program that s a start. Even if it is not doing research directly with the company during PHD , it can open up in terms of internship or full time on-campus or offcampus recruitment.

Hello guys,
Today was my interview, 15th July, 2016. 9am.

Transcripts:

VO: Good morning, may I have your passport and I-20.
Me: Passed it over.

VO: why did you choose Arkansas Tech University?
Me: I choose ATU because it provides me a track under my Masters in Information Technology where I can focus on my specialty which is computer networking.
Also, I choose ATU because it's has a Cisco Networking Academy where I can concurrently pursue my professional certifications in the Computer network in which I can further pursue there.

VO: What schools did you apply to?
Me: Cleveland State University, Shippensburg University, Portland State University, Southern Arkansas University & Arkansas Tech University.

VO: Who's sponsoring you?
Me: My mom.

VO: *picks up two white papers*

I didn't even hear what she was saying again. Ahead Ahead!

Thanks to all the good people here.

Tips: Be sure of yourself, forget who's dishing out denials (most people don't know why they're there and no VO just wants to deny you a visa, they want intelligent responses that hold water), be willing to do your homework regarding possible questions. The way you answer the first question sets the tone of the interview. It's very okay to be nervous as you approach the VO but take a deep breath and believe you're not there to answer to man. You there because God has an ultimate plan for you and this is just a piece to the puzzle.

God bless people.

Fall definitely has more and spring has the leftovers hence it much harder to find funding or even oncampus job in spring . Also this funding this is really based on the school. Some school have more grant/research opportunities for students than others . Then high GRE or CGPA helps as some cases it is automatically given during admission.... If ur GRE is low that makes it harder except u have a good GPA to support it, that might help .. If GRE / GPA are both low then again that makes it harder because how do u sell yourself of a GA position. GA is a job . if both are low or just ok then maybe u think about re-doing GRE , although i am cautious abt getting same score in standardized test

See if you can find the list of professors not just in your course but the whole department . then you need to write to them or call the admin office to let them know u are looking for funding (while selling your skills if email) . Let the graduate advisor or anyone in the school who cares to listen that you need GA... It takes time especially during spring and prayers .

Take a bus to Obalende or CMS and stop at Kofo Abayomi junction (simply called kofo junction) and it's just before bonny camp.

Walk back a little bit from the bus stop and you will see Walter Carrington street. You'll have to walk straight down for about 8-15mins (depending on your speed) to get to the US embassy.

I'm sure you'll know when you get there because you'll definitely meet over 100people there no matter what time you get there grin grin. I wonder whether some people sleep there tho
