Guten Tag Leute! E don tey I dey here oh. Skimmed through the comments of the past 100 pages... Can't read all Wishing everyone coming here success, and everyone in General a wonderful summer And a common theme I noticed while reading is people have extraordinarily high expectations of Germany before coming. Please tone this down to avoid life-threatening depression. It's easy to ignore a certain Schwartz's comments as being overtly pessimistic, but that should be an indication that it's not rosy for everyone everywhere, and we shouldn't be too quick to dismiss the posts. We Nigerians generally like optimism - it's very common to come across statements like "if you don't have anything nice to say, then shut up" - and that is why some would believe they will start sending German machines a few weeks after coming here; and would even see reality as pessimism (believe it or not, I've met people who think like that). My advice and my philosophy is simple: I'd rather have extremely low expectations and watch things unravel beyond my subdued expectations, hence creating a positive Stimmung than have really high expectations and slide into depression when these expectations are not met. Hello Everyone, I'm kinda new here, trying to get a hang of how things work. I've followed this thread for a while and its quite informative barring the caustic confrontations. Please, is anyone going to TUM this winter semester ? Thanks with regards. |

namebdis4:If i were you, i will go with the both form (new and old) filled and printed to avoid stories that touch. Mind you, if u missed that appointment or u made it but wasn't successful with block account opening, your next appointment will be in August, you can't book another one because you will not be able to bypass the system security. |

praiseovie:Have applied to Studentenwerk? If no, try and do that. You will naturally be placed on a waiting list...2-4months. From my findings, Private accommodation is always better when you have arrived. But, flat sharing is a common phenomenon in Germany...may be u get a German flatmate that can help you with the language. Viel Glück 3 Likes |

@UncleJudax thanks. you don enter germo already, or you are among #teamwinter2016 my concern was because some of the infos that i read about, can consist of like 7 to 12 or more number of people in a floor with you having your personal room which only you have access to, but you share the rest part of the building |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by isidollarboy(m): 4:41pm On Jul 15, 2016 |
namebdis4:I would advice you go with the electronically filled form, some peeps said, handwritten is acceptable. All the best |

praiseovie:7-12? I've seen 40 on a floor on some STW pages There are definitely single rooms too and doubletts. Just search well. All depends on what's obtainable in your school. It's not as crazy as played out in your head tho. No be mandela hall for Upiee. 1 Like |

namebdis4:Since your appointment is in July, you're to use the old form. The old form is still valid till July ending. New form starts in August. You stand the risk of being bounced if you present the new form. |

Interview was earlier in the week. My transcript. Went in 6:30am. Did my biometrics, paid visa fee, submited my docs and my file was created and visa receipt given to me. I wrote my SOP in 10mins, submitted and waited for my interview. After attending to those for DB opening et al my interview started around 11/12pm. -Do you speak deutsch? -Where did you learn? -To what level? -Why Germany? -Why do you wana study this course? -Why not in the UK or US? -How did you get to know about the school n course? -How did you apply? -How much did you pay to uniassist? -What docs did you submit during application? -What response did you get after application? -Plans after studies? -Timeline from primary school till date. -Your course structure. -All modules from 1st-4th semester. -Means of sponsorship? -Parents occupation? -Name of company? -Bsc project topic? (And she googled it n blew me questions related to it) -List textbooks you used during your Bachelors (Ikr? She typed all) -Tell me more about your intended course of study (and she was googling n asking me questions related) -Got family in Germany? -Friends? -Name of course coordinator? -Ever applied for a German or schengen visa? -Tell me bout your city? -Name of your mayor? -Spell it? -Population of your city, state, n germany? -Kinda system of government practised in Germany? -Name of president & chancellor & their parties? -Name all German states? -Neighbouring countries? -How have you been preparing for your stay in Germany? -Made accommodation arrangements? Ayt, you'll be contacted via e-mail. Byee.(gave me back my passport) My tips: -Practice writing your SOP in 10mins before your interview. -Chow before going cos the worms in your tummy will gain free entry visa to all parts of your Gastrointestinal tract before you even get to talk to the VO. You can also say you don't have your prepaid courier envelope and you'll be asked to go get it after writing your SOP. Then you can use that opportunity to go eat/drink something. Won't be fun watching those security guys pulling out plates from the microwave and 1-litre sprite bottles by 11am while you wait for your interview with growling stomach. -You might also be given a written test as the dude before me got softened with some math questions. Ciao. 14 Likes 2 Shares |
