OluDare01: VISA APPROVED TODAY IN LAGOS Apology please i talk alot.
The journey that started about 18months ago was consolidated today with the approval of my F1 visa. Got to the embassy by 5:10am and those agents surrounded me but I was just using them to catch fun. Took out time to educate some gullible guys that wanted to fall for their trap. I was so confident, I think my confidence level was 99.9%.
Well, we passed through all the check-in and some guys were turned back for offences ranging from DS160 barcode to sevis receipt. Some did not even have the right documents.
Fastforward, we got inside and I just dey form oversabi dont mind me. The lady was like you folded your i-20 and sevis receipt already So after all the initial gragra, I finally joined the queue, was the 10th person. Turned on the pastor mode, no be small thing o ( praying in the holy ghost) Three Vos came and interviews started. They were just dishing out denial like gift. See guys froming fake american accent, no be small thing o Gbam, so i was interviewed by the lady in window 7, the babe before me was also approved. My approval was the third Here is the conversation Me – Good Morning VO – Pass me your documents VO- Why are you going to the US? Me- I am going to the US to pursue my masters degree in Chemistry with a concentration in analytical and environmental chemistry at Tennesee Tech University, Cookeville. VO- what do you currently do? Me- I just concluded my NYSC where i taught chemistry in a secondary scvhool. I also volunteered as a radio presenter VO- (looks at me for the first time) What will you do after your studies? Me- Few weeks ago, the FG launched a $10m clean up of oil spill in Ogonni land in the Niger Delta. I plan to return to Nigeria to help in environmental remediation and fighting environmental pollution, I will take up lecturing jobs in Nigerian Universities, I wanna be a Prof of Chemistry VO- (looks at me) i will be approving your VISA. Then i became deaf temporarily. Be confident, I was so confident and eloquent. Didn't do any rehearsal atall, maybe cos I've been reading transcripts here and I did the whole application myself.
Thanks to everyone here, you guys are doing a great job. To the gurus slimmy2005( Mr nice guy, God bless you real good), imperiouxx, MsNas, Zeezahbee, Bigfrancis Aadeyi, profdot, Ojap, mevisbleek, GboyegaD,bbdd, lagosismyhome, deetus et al, keep on doing the good work here.

My visa was approved on tuesday.I'm really very sorry for posting this late transcript. While i was celebrating the victory i broke my phone screen.I had to fix it first so i could be able to access nairaland as i didnt even remember my p/w. The grace of the almighty God was at work in my life that fateful day. I have been following nairaland since february. I started reading from thread6 and when it was time to start my application, there was no need to start asking any questions as i have gained alot.
Fastforward to the day of my interview. I did all the necessary stuffs, biometrics and all. I was on the queue and i heard STEP FORWARD PLS. There was this particular VO that was on a denying streak that day. He didnt waste any time at all and was very quick to say sorry your visa has been denied. He denied the young girl before me even as her mum talked and talked to convince the VO. He beckoned and i stepped forward.
V.O Good Morning

I did a year diploma program in computer studies at the computer science dept of OAU. Between 2006-2008 i went to the maritime academy of nigeria for a two year diploma program in nautical science. I embarked on an Industrial training for a year at a shipping company. After the IT i started working with them as a full staff. I Will be going for a Bsc program in computer science at the university of minessota *Mind u, my voice was shaking all thru and i was stuttering. I lost my composure and had already given up*
V.O How long have u been working.

V.O Who's going to pay for your education.
Me My dad. i come tell am wetin my papa dey do.
V.O Congrats. your visa has been approved *at this point i became deaf* i grabbed the white paper and dashed out.
I didnt believe it.it was like a dream.while i was on the BRT i kept checking my bag if it was the blue paper cos i knew there was nothing i said or did that impressed the VO. God just favored me. He didnt ask about the school, course or if i wrote any standardized test(i wrote only TOEFL tho). I thought my age would be a red flag as i'm 29yrs old.

Hello I escorted my mum to the airport 3weeks ago as JJC travellers we parted with like 4k to arrange luggages so as not exceed the flight weight minimum. I really didn't understand what they actually did....but I know they did a fast one.
Boss, I don't want to go down that lane. I am using Qatar and I will only be travelling with a box and my hand luggage(won't be carrying any food or extra load).
Is there a minimum weight?
How can I check before it's weighed by the airline staff.
Thanks |

Meaning you will be assisting with teaching undergraduate classes and prepare practical classes if its sciences. Well such positions should give you a tuition waiver. In some schools it may give you full tuition waiver. But from the email I doubt it will give full waiver as the professor is complaining of low funding, but definitely in this case it will cover some of the cost, I believe. No way to know the cost difference, I will advice you get information from the school as such differences would be relative to different schools and amounts of fund available. Hope this helps |

I not sure of Qatar airline but most airline is 23kg per bag to the US and 2 bags. Anything over 23kg you pay . ..... you can buy a Portable Handheld Weighing Luggage Scale. Dont know where they sell it in naija but very cheap abroad so you can use it to weigh your luggage before u get to the airport.... Alternatively normal scale people step on. So any home scale should be able to tell u how heavy d bag is ....me over the years i know if i can not carry it with one hand then its over 23kg. So i can roughly tell but that might be just me. No minimum weight so if u travel with no luggage at all, thats ok too..... 2 Likes |

adebayoolatunji: Please guys I need to further my education in USA. I studied pure and applied physics. I graduated with 2.96/5.0. What are my chances of getting admitted for a PGD program in a related course. adebayoolatunji, the best advice I will give you is look for schools that accept 2.7 or 2.5 then evaluate your transcript. Then also write GRE and do very well and you will get admitted to run a Masters. That's the best advice I will give. No need thinking of PGD. Running a Masters is possible if u evaluate ur transcript, write GRE and also look for safe schools. |
