Yeah, there is black soup. It's a delicacy eaten by the Edo (Benin) people. The leaves (bitter leaf, scent leaf, and sometimes, uziza leaf) gives it that color.

Preferably, use banga oil instead of palm oil. It gives it this local flavor.

I wouldn't say I really liked it because of the bitter leaf but the chunks of meat were things to eye . We used to eat it from small earthenware pots.
