First of all let me correct the impression about the person that talked about orphanage, anything you give to them is a gift.
The tith Abraham give to Melchizedek, the one they give to Levi and the one given in the church are the same.
Melchizedek is a priest, Levi is a priest and the one you take to church pastor or priest will still receive it.
Even the idol worshippers give their tith to their idol priest.

You have one of 3 options that I can think of.
1. Let your tithes touch other people's lives by helping those really in need however you can.
2. Establish a financial unit yourself with an intent of touching lives the best way you can.
3. Give it to some pastors to continue expanding, refueling their private jets while their congregation catch buses to get to church.

In my own church, widows and orphans benefit from the church. I know plenty widows who come to my church every Sunday so they can have food in their homes. I know orphans whom the church saw through all levels of their education.

A levite must be from the levi lineage.
I said read up on the early church. They never collected offerings or tithes all they collected were contributions when it's needed.

Paying tithe is just a smart way of ensuring people are enslaved and mandated to pay money to the pastors

This issue of tithe has been disturbing me for some time now. My mum always advice me to pay my tithe but i feel reluctant to do it cos of these effizy pastors...Presently my uncle is angry with me cos i didnt pay my tithe last month but i dont give a damn....I have made up my mind to be giving my tithe to children{preferably new born babies} or elderly people with effect 4rm this month.

It's not about money besides that's not a Christian obligation.. Abeg read the gospel well if you want to support God's work no be pastor suppose dey tell you what amount bla bla it should come voluntarily from your heart... And if you are a good Christian you should do that frequently.. Why don't you learn from jehovah's witnesses no titth or whatever but yet we voluntarily donate whatever we have to support God's work and the money are user for the right things we don't have people getting payed for serving as leaders we do our own evangelizing work out of love and not to get paid and fly pjet.. We devote our time to preach the gospel which is the primary assignment of every Christian..yet we never run out of money we even organize disaster relief when one happens help in rebuilding houses with resources donated by witnesses that's what makes you a Christian
