What did the Jews do wrong? [Quran 9:29 Pickthal] Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low. Who gave them the Scripture? What is wrong with the Scripture that was given them as they too believe in one God? Following the above quranic verse Muhammad killed about 600 of them in just one day, why? The Jews also believe in one-God. What is the difference between their one-God,Yahweh and muslims' one-God, Allah that resulted in conflicts? 1 Like |

Allah in that 9:29 said the people who had earlier received the Scripture didn't believe in him, this shows it wasn't allah who gave them the scripture, hence they didn't believe in him. But they believed in the giver of their scripture, Yahweh. Isn't it ? 3 Likes |

Luckylife: You are very correct. Where I'm actually going is that allah only looked for flimsy excuse to waste human lives and also send muslims to Hellfires. Were allah the sender of the earlier scripture, why would he declare war against those who believed in it? |

annunaki2: True. Another reason is that Jews and Christians didn't believe in islamic rituals idol worshipers were doing, which Muhammad incorporated into his islam. They never heard of Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Jesus etc talk about it or or face Kaaba the house of pagan idols. |

Or they remembered Ezekiel 8:15 that says those who face the East (Kabaa) turn their back to God's holy Temple. |

truthmans2012: Remember mohammed and his victims used to pray facing Jerusalem until the Jews rejected him as a false prophet and he captured the pagan shrine(kabbah) in mecca, he then redirected his victims to pray facing the pagan shrine which all muslims still do today. |

Which Scripture was the allahh referring Muhammad to here: Allah told Muhammad to consult the Jews and the Christians if he was in doubt of the revelations he was receiving: (And if thou art in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto thee, then question those who read the Scripture (that was) before thee. Verily the Truth from thy Lord hath come unto thee. So be not thou of the waverers (Quran 10:94). If it wasn't the original, why did he refer Muhammad to it? |
