My advise is simple, forget bout the 500k you paid before gettinng the working permit Visa, go back to Nigeria, most of people working in dubai is salvery for sure because according to people who have been there says the same...what mos people dont know there are many opportunity in Nigeria, i am very sure as an engineer in Nigeria you can find little Job ...do not waste your time there go back to naija, the 65000 wont get you no here sir, what did you want to save after paying your bills, so that means you are only working to feed paybills and etc..............

Op, tell ur friend not to cancel the document he has signed, because it will be worst if he cancel it, there is a big chances that he will win the company and get a good job, he shouldn't mind what the agent told him, tell him to give the good reasons like working conditions, his health the salary and he didn't see the documents and he wasn't the one that signed his working terms.

Dear Nairalanders, pls your urgent advice is needed as we have 48 hrs ultimatum. A friend of mine travelled to Dubai two months ago with the aim that d place will be a better place for him bt on getting there, the opposite was met. He went there through an agent in Nigeria here who has a partner in d UAE. He applied for working visa which he was given two years by a company there. The problem started when he got the visa and occupation written on it is "Ordinary Labourer" as he applied for welding work, but the agent told him that, that is UAE style since he is going there as a technician. On getting there, he was welcomed by the company and he started work the third day as a labourer, real one. With this, he was given some documents which have been signed on his behalf, he was surprised as the documents contains employee -employer agreement. He called the agents both the one in Nigeria and UAE immediately what he saw, but the agents said he should be enduring.

To cut the story short, the work is a typical slavery work, though he is collecting about 65K/month as wage, when converted to naira. Now the problem is that other documents he needed to sign, he refused because of those conditions and since then, the agents have been begging him to sign. Also, there was a need for him to do medicals, he also refused and fortunately for him, he met one of the directors in the company and explain things to him bt the man answered him to write cancellation letter so that he can be sent back to Nigeria. But he did not want to waste almost 500k he paid this agent.

Now a Nigerian he met there directed him to go to the labour complaint office in Dubai, which he did and he got this reply from d labour office today "A complaint application number (MB165125948AE ) has been made on company number (488063 ) from employee (CHARLES UGO ) having work permit number ( 65600814), we hope that both of you would mutually discuss on this complaints during next 48 working hours before it gets registered on the company." Now the problem, this message has been forwarded to the company, the company has forwarded it to the agent in Dubai and the agent now called him and said he has made a great mistake by reporting that he may be deported and banned for one year from entering UAE.

Pls Nairalanders, 48hrs has started about 4hrs ago, the company may call on him in d next 4/5 hrs, what should he do? Is it true that he may be deported based on this?? Pls your sincere advice is needed. c

If this your friend went there a day then became a billionaire within one year, op just be honest, "would you come here to tell anybody"?

Op, just for your information, you were advised in one of the threads you opened some months ago but you/ your friend didn't heed such advice. Here was the advise:

Lexusgs430:

Tell him to prepare for slave labour (7 days a week) and be prepared for fines from his employer and also be prepared to surrender his passport to his employer.
All this for between 5k - 8k daily wage!!!!!

Vanpascore:

He said he is ready for work if money will enter wella bt d issue of passpor submission, that is serious o. Anyway, thanks for ur comment

Here's the said thread
https://www.nairaland.com/3079733/please-him-he-travelling-uae

Now here's your thread last year when you or your friend was preparing for his visa, then you didn't clearly come up with plans of him travelling. You hid the plans.

By the way, here's the link to that thread:

why would people ask for advice and all you could do is tell him was his wrong decisions alone.
please kindly advise him cos his time is ticking
Re: Please Help, He Is About To Be Deported From Uae by Nobody: 6:11am On Jul 18, 2016
Your friend has set the ball rolling by reporting without doing his research into the consequences. He has no option than to see the process through. Either he wins and gets out stronger, or he loses and shrugs off the N500K as 'school fees' for an expensive education in what not to invest half a million Naira in.

For other would-be emigrants in search of 'greener pastures'. I hope this is an eye opener. Stay home and plant your yam with your N500K. Within ten years you could be a comfortable employer, and hiring your own employees from the US.

u can go back to the labor office to plead to them to help him out to plead to the company to stop the deportation.

but i must confess u weren't patient enough and too much in a haste to go and report your employer. u cant even try dat here in nigeria let alone a foreign land. 2 months is just too short for u to take such drastic step against an employer.
please act fast before it is too late because deportation is a bad experience.
even here in nigeria, the govt of oyo state did not pay their workers for christmas and ester salaries.
just go back and beg and endure rather than coming back to nigeria to face the humiliation
Plead! Where does our self esteem lie?? Is the Humiliation being felt there better than the humiliation he would face in Nigeria. Whatever treatment he will get serves him right. He has got the courage to report a company to her own government just after 2 months, you think the company would let him stay. If perhaps he "pleads", you think they won't treat him worse?

I support his deportation.
He's reaping the fruit of his foolishness.
I hate these people called Agents and also the people who use them, only foolish people uses Agents, That thing wey the agent go do, you can do it by yourself.

Why would i pay 500k for Dubai visa ?? I can't give someone 5k for shitty Dubai visa.

Let this be a lesson to you, next time read, read again, re-read again, because the terms and condition and the duration of the job was written on the papers.

My guy gave an agent 500 thousand naira for ordinary Dubai visa, how much did it cost me to get an American visa ?? Just 160k, The guy foolishly went to Dubai with a one month visa, he's now in Lagos begging for money

US visa is 48k bros! E be like say them gba you

Nothing like that will happen. UAE don't joke with workers right...... At the end ur friend may be compensated heavily if the case is taking to court and he wins. Your friend should report that he was deceived and he feels cheated. He should act as a victim and insist he was misled. If he does that n he wins the case he will be paid over 2 million naira by the comapny but he must make it look like human traffiking...... I hope he's a graduate with his certificate with him...... Many companies use agents to get ignorant people as labourers here... 65k is damn to small. where I work in dubai a sec school holder gets over 200k..... so please he should not back out he has a very strong case..... if the comapny is culpable he will be paid 2 years salary n a return ticket n he will not be banned for 1 year.

So please tell ur friend to act as a victim n stand by his right.....

The best solution I can give now is for your friend to pray and to look for a powerful man of God here in nigeria that is if he is a believer.
Powerful man of God? To dupe him the remaining change he got? What does Man of God or Religion has to do with this? Man of God ko god of men ni.

With my experience in dubai where I live and work till date, the problem is not the company and the company might process his cancellation for deportation and 6 month ban, however the agent is the one who didn't tell his client the truth about the state of the work and the salary package he lure him to come with a sweet mouth of a good salary because he has collect so much money from him.
Advise: he should talk with the company again and if he can't he shld find his way back home cos automatically he ll be ban from working in uae for 6 month and not to come to uae.

To the general public: a lot of agent are in dubai luring people with good salary some end up paying as much as 1 million to the agent please do not be deceived getting job is much easier in dubai going through an agent is a not the best. Get a 3 month visa come and search for ur desire job with God all things are possible.
For more assistance or help :0556657412

Note: am not an agent I can only advise and give advise to prospective visitors
