Chai that's some serious money I missed out on nearly 5% more, if I had asked bank to bid for me they probably would have gone 9.5 % as well. ukay2: |

feelamong: Some guys will now be thinking of "crashing" Tbills that they earlier booked at lower rates...feelamong, do you think it makes sense to liquidate one that is currently running for between 8%-9% pa for 180 days and bid for higher rates at the next auction? |

zamirikpo: For the records, I did not get the Stop rates... I actually bidded for 91 days at 12% now we know we are fully back in businesss Seems the govt is trying to attract the FPIs, at least to get the dollars which is very scarce! i expect these rates to remain high for the next 6 - 8 months 3 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by feelamong(m): 7:25am On Jul 21, 2016 |
Adesiji77: It actually makes sence to liquidate a running TB, take in the loss and go for the higher rates.. but then as it is now; you cannot discount your TB unless the volume is up to N100M (like i was told by most banks) so it means you have to hold till maturity We need to have a vibrant secondary market for retail customers( Only the banks and Big PFAs, Fund Managers are enjoying the secondary market now) |

feelamong: Or you could use a money market mutual fund. They invest in TBs so their yields track TB rates |
