abikun: Hello, I have built a bakery about to start in Kaduna, I have a registered business name, I was at Nafdac for registration but one of thing they asked for was trademark registration, and that can only be gotten in Abuja can take long to process then bring it to Nafdac alongside other requirement. My question is is there a way of by passing the trade mark registration since I have a registered business name? And what is the fastest way of getting Nafdac registration |
Re: What Is Your Greatest Challenge(s) In Registering Regulated Products In Nigeria? by abikun(m): 10:15pm On Jul 18, 2016 |
HAH:There is no way you can by pass trademark as it is one of the mandatory requirements for getting NAFDAC number as stated in my write up. You can get NAFDAC registration within 3 weeks through fast track or 3 months through normal procedure of registration. |
Re: What Is Your Greatest Challenge(s) In Registering Regulated Products In Nigeria? by HAH: 2:33pm On Jul 19, 2016 |
abikun: Thank you very much, please how do I go about the fast tract registration cos I want everything to be done fast For the trademark registration do you mean all I need is an acknowledgment without waiting for approval for the Nafdac registration |
Re: What Is Your Greatest Challenge(s) In Registering Regulated Products In Nigeria? by abikun(m): 1:30pm On Jul 20, 2016 |
HAH: To apply for the fast track registration: The following are require: Application letter, Certificate of Incorporation, Trademark (Acknowledgment and Acceptance), and Membership Certificate of Manufacturer Association of Nigeria (MAN). But if I may ask, do you want to obtain the fast track for bread? If it's so, then I am afraid to tell you that fast track number is no more available for bread and water. For Trademark, you need acknowledgment and acceptance. |

hadukey:There is no problem with the collation of the documents. We will be taking it one step at a time. You may not get all, but at least 85%. No more fast track number for bread and water for now because it has been abused. 1 Like |

Now let get started, for you to register with NAFDAC, CAC and Trademark are important and make sure the two documents bear the same name. Also make sure your product is registered under the appropriate trademark class. I have found out that many products are usually registered under a class different from the product. I am trying to emphasize on this so that it won't cause delay during registration. You can view all the 45 trademark classes here: http://www.oppedahl.com/trademarks/tmclasses.htm |

Can you help with the estimate of the cost of getting all these and NAFDAC NO ? What if its a one man business, like baking cake and meat pie and packaging. Do you need nafdac since you dont have any arrangement with lab or have any employees and you do everything yourself ? What about someone who makes colored popcorn at home and packages it? Does he or she need nafdac ? What of someone who makes cereal by grinding grains and packaging it or someone that buys soy powder to make soy milk and bottle it ? . |

Nduwin:This is the cost of registering for either enterprises or ventures. Officially, Searching : #500:00 or #1,000:00 Certificate form: #250:00 Certificate: #10,000:00 For Limited Liability Company, it is cumbersome and expensive. You can get your certificate within 4 weeks after payment. Hope I answer your question. |

osile2012:Not necessary to register. But to add credibility to your products I will advice you register with NAFDAC if you can afford it. Also, ensure that what you are producing is safe and hygienic for human consumption. |

How to write SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) It must be on the letterhead of the organisation. The content will consists of top table, body, and closing table. The top table will include the following: name of the SOP (e.g. SOP Production), Department (e.g. Production), Area (Water Treatment as an example), SOP No, Version No, Effective Date, Supersedes (Ver. & Date, Next Review). Let me explain better, SOP No indicate that you will number the SOPs one by one and it is usually preceded by SOP production and goes on like that as I stated in my first post, you can check it at the top. This means SOP NO for production will be 1, while SOP No for quality control will be 2, on and on like that. Please, if you are following this thread indicate as it is the only thing that can bring me satisfaction to continue. Thanks. 2 Likes |

Re: What Is Your Greatest Challenge(s) In Registering Regulated Products In Nigeria? by abikun(m): 8:37pm On Jul 23, 2016 |
osile2012:NAFDAC will not accept using a residence as a factory, so they won't approve it. You have to separate factory from residence. The cost will depend on the product you want to register. |
