evegran: He is not going to win The maths don't add up He needs to win Pennsylvania, florida, ohio, Michigan to make the electoral map turn red He has already maligned the African American population (Pennsylvania, Michigan) He has already maligned the Latin Americans (Florida). Hilary cleverly decided on Kaine who is fluent in spanish to enable them lock the Hispanic votes The educated white folks won't necessarily vote for him since they can see through his idiotic rhetoric (Pennslvania) The has polarized his own party and even the current Governor of Ohio didn't attend their convention and isn't going to vote for him (Ohio) Michael bloomberg who was once a republican with a large following has endorsed Hilary and will be speaking at the Democratic convention on Wednesday Hilary has Bill who is still well loved, Barack who has performed tremendously well (The stats/facts suggest he has) backing her How is trump going to win? Americans aren't fickle minded 13 Likes 2 Shares |

jaybee3: Forget about maths. Donald Trump was the least likely candidate expected to win the GOP nomination but he did. With the calibre of people behind the #NeverTrump movement, the odds were stacked against him yet he scaled the hurdle. Sometime during the primaries, i said that there is an unseen force propelling candidate Trump that may see him win the nomination and the presidency. I remain undaunted because that force has always rubbished mundane statistics and will continue to. In addition, Americans appear to be seriously anti-establishment which Trump represents. Was it not surpriding that he even made very good showing in so-called Latino states ? There also has been a tremendous upsurge in white voter registration all over the nation. The white people crave an opportunity to take back their country and its values and Trump appear to be providing the opportunity. The email scandal has shown that Hilary cannot be fully trusted. She and Obama are complicit somehow in the upsurge of terrorist outfits. Although both candidates have acceptability problems but the odds are stacked more against Clinton. I may've entertained some doubts if Bernie Sanders were to be the Dems candidate. 9 Likes 1 Share |

bonechamberlain: You are wrong, Sanders stand no chance against trump. Majority of Sanders supporters are young white radicals, so is Trump's. Clinton has the minority behind her in addition to the traditional democrats, also when you factor in experienced and influential politicians she has got a strong backing. America does not practise direct democracy, the majority(popular vote) do not determine the eventual winner. 1 Like |

neocortex:Clinton has the support of those who are the problems of America, the greedy capitalist and war mongering zionist, who would run out of business if Sanders wins as he is more trustworthy and dedicated to the American vision. It's that same minority that is the problem of the u.s. just like al gore won the popular vote but lost to the minority(electoral college) in 2000. |

idupaul:And so, for all this, it is somebody who wants to start a nuclear war that is the solution? Someone who says it is OK for Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan etc to acquire nuclear weapons. idupaul:Wakey wakey...! A US president DOES have the authority to unilaterally order a nuclear strike without recourse to congress. He has the nuclear codes on him at all times, which he can trigger whenever he likes. Donald Trump is the person you are willing to give that power? Trump, a two year old child in a man's body? It's the very height of madness. 4 Likes |

It's the American tradition that after the GOP convention, candidates popularity will sour a little in the opinion polls. But like some folks here have rightly pointed out, DTrump has so much odds stacked against him. Apart from sidelining the African-American with his outbursts, some notable world powers (Germany, UK, France) and off course the African continent seem to be supporting Hillary. However, Trump won the GOP ticket against all odds so may be it might still get going for him. But I expect big names in the Republican party in the coming days to give public endorsement of The Clintons against their own candidate. |

iPrevail: The current CNN poll isn't a surprise; after all both McCain and Romney received bumps in the post-convention polls in 08 and 12 respectively, but still lost in landslides to Obama. Trump would lose badly in his home state of New York by over 30% points too. Nevertheless, the key for Secretary Clinton winning the election would be to maximize the turnout of Democrats/millennials/women to the November 8 polls. If women make up a majority of the voters, as they did in 2012, where they comprised 53% of the electorate, and vote overwhelmingly for Hillary, she'd be the president-elect; ditto for the millennial vote. Also, if she garners around 45% of the white men vote, she would be on her way to victory. That's one of the reasons she chose Senator Tim Kaine as her running mate - to cut into Trump's lead among White men. Right now, Trumps unfavorable rating amongst women is around 70%, and his unfavorable rating among Latinos is 77%, and over 90% among Blacks. But the key for him to win in November would be to maximize and perform well with independents. Right now, he is leading Secretary Clinton amongst independents, but may have to win that demographic by double digits, and maximize turnout of Republicans in order to have any hope of victory. 5 Likes 1 Share |
