When you are a leader, don't let power get you intoxicated like most African leaders.

That former speaker and now deputy speaker is a power monger. She should have stepped aside and allow a new deputy speaker take over.

This will help silence Tom Ikhimi and PDP who have been shouting marginalization of esan land. Now the new speaker is from Igueben. that is the same village with Tom Ikhimi.

Speaker of the house is better than Deputy Governor PDP is offering esan land. Deputy Governor position is functionless position.

This woman have made national history. History will always remember her.

APC marginalised Esanland because they voted PDP, this is too little too late.

When PDP raised the issue of fair representation amongst the 3 senatorial districts APC refused. APC claimed the speaker was married to an Esan man, meaning she is Esan by virtue of her marrying an Esan man.

Why did they suddenly change? It has nothing to do with September 10th right?

Its either "love","patriotism" or "hypnotism" shebi na Edo.

It is mumbers, 18 out 0f 24,

2/3rd rule. If she didn't move, they have the numbers to impeach her.

It is a bsd precedent even though the outcome may be good on this occasion.

The concept should be written into the constitution.

I pull cap for Oshiomhole
He is indeed a political mathematician
When the APC chose a deputy from Edo North, instead of Edo Central, the PDP justified their parrotness but am sure this action will shut some of them up.
On Sept.10 someone should pls tell me the result from Tom Ikini's polling unit

There was never marginilisation of esan land in the first place.

Politics is really a game if well played is enjoyable.
Esan has be handed the position of speakership again.

Osho is playing politics to satisfy the Esan land. This is just politics nothing more.
Well, congrats to him, the new speaker is from Igueben LGA of Edo central where Tom Ikimi comes from
And Esan people should be dumb enough not to see this laughable attempt to play with their intelligence.

A man who has been indulging himself just decided to give/engineer the speakership to an Esanman only three months to the election that would signal his departure from office.

The desperation is just too obvious. The fear of Pastor Ize-Iyamu...

Is APC and Oshiomhole just knowing that there should be fairness and equitable distribution of power after relegating the Esan people of Edo state for years?

I doubt there would be changes in the leadership of EDHA. But you most understand that the central power stil lies within the executive as most of our house speakers are stooges to the governor.

Don't delude yourself by believing that she resigned for altrusic reasons...

Her political god fathers in the APC 'encouraged' her to leave the position so that they can pacify voters from the region of the new speaker.

Coming just 2 months to the election...any reasonable person from that region should consider it an insult!!!

This is the type of brainless politics of bitterness that really leads the country nowhere. Someone was voted out by a clear majority and u are screaming trash!

Ok, while we are here seeing it from deffer perspectives CNN has just announced her as hero of Africa politics, who stepped down without
fight, election, rancor or even argument a motion was moved for her to step down by majority leader to enable the zoning pertained/acknowledged and she quietly DID SO and CONCURRED , they may have planned it bros, but how many men would do this in African Continent as a whole?. who to vote for in the coming election is another thing.

No matter the manipulation Oshomhole is doing Edo people know better. When she was installed four months ago they didn't know she was from Edo South. Whoever thinks that Esan person is not good enough to be the deputy Governor will have another thing coming.

Not true. This is a desperate move by Oshiomhole and in a normal society, it would be a non-issue. The weightier issue is that Oshiomhole marginalised Esanland in terms of projects throughout his reign.

Note that I'm not a fan of the political pastor or his come and eat party.

Please get your facts right before commenting in the public domain. When Oshiomole came in, Zakawanu Garuba from Edo North was speaker. He was removed for the sake of balance and replaced with Uyi Igbe from Edo South, who was succeeded by Victor Edoror from Edo Central after the 2015 elections, and impeached two months ago. Prior to this moment, Esan land has only held the position for a little over one year.

I wonder wat u stand to gain by twisting well known facts. Edo South produced d speaker in Oshiomhole' first tenure. Edo people are not as gullible as u think....what happened today at d hallowed chamber is nothing but a written script to deceive d people, but we are wiser now, we know d truth and come September 10, we will change d change....
