Of course even a dunce knows 4 years is not enough. Someone said a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step; let's encourage that step and consolidate with whoever comes after...shading and theatrics doesn't get things done, only gives spectators room to "laff" or "wail". #justmyhumbleopinion |

ShegzzyGo:Please educate us on how things work. Which specific ideas did she suggest on diversification of the economy that her boss rejected. Remember, she was the coordinating minister of the economy, so the responsibility for diversifying the economy rested on her shoulders. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Not just talking? But, talking is exactly what she's doing!. Yet, she's missing the point and have no idea what needs be done to get us out of mass poverty!. The type of development she's talking about cannot happen without true education. We caanot develop until we re-invent education in Africa to serve our need. The current model of education we inherited from colonial masters was not designed for development. It was designed for peripheral duties; which is why we have good musicians, good lawyers, financial managers, dancers, good economists, good authors, footballers, e.t.c, e.t.c. Current system of education in Africa wasn't designed for wealth creation!. That's why we cannot develop!. To develop, we must uproot the current system of education in Africa which doesn't allow us build our own airplanes, cars, fast train, TVs, submarine, ships, machines, e.t.c, e.t.c, and install a new system of knowledge acquisition (education) that will enable us do what we can't currently do. The current system of education that creates people like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who lacks scientific approach to problem solving is the problem. Now, she recognizes we need to do something on manufacturing. But, how? She have no credible answer to that. In order to manufacture, a nation must create a system of knowledge acquisition (education) that makes them capable of literally manufacturing!. You may call it human capital development, but geared towards manufacturing- exactly what China have done, not even Dubai she mentioned. Africa cannot develop without investment in grassroots science. I explained this in details on the link on my signature. 1 Like |
