Pay the entire school fees. What documents did you submitted to prove relationship between you and your sponsor /employer? I noticed inconsistency in your application as fund available section in your study permit should be for a year as evident in your sponsor's affidavit /declaration.

Thanks for your contribution.

Well my boss wrote the sponsorship letter and signed on behalf of the company. In my SOP, I also explained that I've only ever worked for my boss from internship days and post uni till now (PS. I'm currently working in his 2nd company). I only submitted employment letter to prove employer/employee relationship.

For the funds available, my employer offered to pay ($26, 424.34) per year = $52,848.68, plus my finances $15,035.65, plus already paid grad deposit of $2,500. That's how I came about the figure.

Concerning Employer sponsoring you, I believe it wasn't convincing to them. Try other available option.

Let your fund available for studies be for a year $26, 424.34 as your sponsor have promised. Pay your school fees entirely. Due to fx crisis, they mostly require payment of school fees with the evidence presented.

Boss, sorry about the delay.

If i am to make a calculated guess, the VO doesnt believe the Company/Organisation will sponsor you.

You are going for a Masters program for 2 years.....not a seminar or a workshop that would benefit your employer.

Did your employer state in the letter of sponsorship how your program would benefit the company? The company is a profit making organization and as such all money spent on your further studies would be recouped how ? how long have you been working for the company ?
What does the company do? is it an engineering company in which your Meng degree would be said to be useful/relevant to the company?

I smell distrust....The VO is not confident the company will sponsor you.

My advice, get an individual to sponsor you especially one of the directors and then get a very convincing letter of sponsorship from him/her.

I rest my case.

I'm 27, worked for 3+ years in my current firm, but altogether I've for 5 years for my boss.

So you're saying that in calculating the funds available, I should not multiply $26, 424.34 by 2, and just add it to my grad deposit and personal finances?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Nobody: 10:12pm On Jul 26, 2016
@Yemdogg i always like to see ur meaningful comments..company sponsorship hardly sell in the VOs eye as i have said initially..individual sponsorship would be advisable as you just spoke my mind. But @yemm! What do u have to say on the "assets and financial status" on his case? @Bamz na my guy..ds matter touch me for body this evening
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Newman1010: 10:14pm On Jul 26, 2016
@bamz

I go with @yemdogg on this. I think the major question to be answered is, why will the company spend such an amount of money on you @Bamz? Just get an individual sponsor and your TRV is sure. Sorry for the delay, Wish you the very best bro/ sis.

I believe my SOP addressed the bolded.

The VO didn't say I could not afford my tuition fees if you read through again but I get your point.

About getting a director, that means he'd have to use his personal SOA? right? I just felt it was more convincing using company as sponsor as my course aligns with the company's operations.

Although I haven't asked, I'm not sure my boss would put so much money in his personal accounts that would suffice for an app

I will implore you to let your sponsor SOA get stronger, Remember it's a cooperate organization, if a company is willing to sponsor a worker spending close to 4million per yr. What is the turn over of the company for the past 6months.. Don't rush to apply, just tackle d issue off insufficient funds, you can change sponsor..

I seriously doubt if a VO would attach much importance to the note verbal .....it's a diplomatic communication prepared in the third person and unsigned. It's more relevant for institutional purpose or inter governmental agencies or relations.

If you submit an airtight application you don't need such document.....besides it is advisable to keep your application simple. Submiting a note verbal will only make a VO more curious about why you included a note verbal in your application. Or does it really serve a purpose in your application? You're applying for a study permit right? If so a VO won't see any need to expedite your application in anyway or manner. Especially since you're not going for an assignment for the federal government.

A letter of introduction from the ministry suffices.

Please and please do not arouse the curiosity of the VO attending to your application.

My 2cent

I'm sorry but you are wrong on this..i mean very wrong. Note verbal will do his application a great deal.

Thanks for your reply.
Note verbal was prepared on my behalf and it was signed by an official from foreign affairs, since I am a uniform officer, though I'm going for an academic program, it's usually treated as an assignment since I was officially cleared for it and I'm coming back to my job.
There was nothing curious in my application to attract the attention of the VO, I reason that each country's high commission usually have diplomatic relationship and should respect such letters from each other.
I haven't seen such since I joined this forum so I said I should clarify what I was told. I'm more concerned about my submission time which is close to date of resumption.

If you forgot to add any other thing to your application make sure you don't forget to add note verbal and i'm saying this from experience.

Good luck

1. My salary account reflected my earnings (so there was no need for pay stubs)

2. Those 5 years include internship during uni and post uni working experience

3. The bulk of my personal finances is a tbills certificate, the rest were cash deposits

Thanks omooba2015. There were two SOAs from the coy actually. One slightly over 22k USD, and the second around N15m.

Talking about change of sponsor, I was wondering if I use my cousin, I thought they'd like to see some sort of consistency in my app because I started with the whole company thing. Someone also mentioned that I use my boss.

Someone on this forum changed sponsor thrice and was approved in his third application..so it doesn't show any inconsistency

Sorry about your delay. Was it clear and obvious to the VO how you arrived at the "Funds Available"? Everything about your finances in the next app must be "idiot-proof" so the VO doesn't have to think too much for things to make sense.

Anything that requires the VO to do mental math can be frustrating and annoying to him/her.

A note verbal is quite an important document but does it really cure any defect in a study permit application?

Moreso, he doesnt even work with the government; he works with an organisation who processed the note verbal on his behalf. These VOs dont just attach much importance to all the documents submitted by applicants, They have guidelines for reviewing and processing study permit application. They select relevant ones and discountenance others. Dont get me wrong i am not saying a note verbal is irrelevant or unimportant but in this context it seems a bit farfetched.

How does a note verbal expedite his application? we all know that most times when we submit our study permit applications they remain on queue for several weeks before the VOs even review the documents submitted. Until your application is opened, a VO would not know if you added a note verbal or not. Although some applications are attended to randomly. My point is, unless and until your application is opened a VO would ordinarily NOT know which document you submitted be it note verbal. Unless the Note Verbal is not included in his application package but sent directly to cic. More particularly so, he is not an official of the govt, he is not a diplomat, he is not going on an official assignment for the govt; He is simply furthering his studies; The vo may not see any cogent reason why his application should be expedited. Or is he one of those DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDER peeps grin.
Well i have not read the note verbal so i wouldnt know what was stated in it. All am just saying is that it would be advisable for him to first tie loose ends in his application. a note verbal is an addendum.

CIC has expressly stated the ways and means in which you can expedite your application. Its on their webiste.

I HAVE NOT USED A NOTE VERBAL BEFORE NEITHER HAVE I SEEN ANY ONE USED IT BEFORE SO I DONT KNOW TO WHAT EXTENT THESE VOs ATTACH IMPORTANCE TO IT. BUT SINCE YOU ARE CONVINCED THAT THE VO WILL ATTACH IMPORTANCE TO IT THEN BY ALL MEANS SUBMIT IT.
ACTUALLY IT DOESNT HURT YOUR APPLICATION. I WISH SEUNSKILLS BEST OF LUCK grin
