yemdogg: I was not and still not working for the govt when i first used note verbal but i was living with a family member who is a serving diplomat at that time. My first visa application to US was refused for lack of home tie and the Secretary forgot to add the note verbal to my package we only realized this after leaving the embassy. It was included in my second application to another embassy and it was successful within 4days. This application was for academic purposes. All my applications were made outside Nigeria while on posting. If note verbal is used correctly it does help the application You don't get note verbal from an agent or a friend who works for govt agency or parastatal. I'm saying this with the believe that seunkills works for an organization who has the right to issue such document. 1 Like |

ayoadeoyatokun:its crazy, in my case i only indicated canada visa refusal , my US refusal was a long time tho, 6 yrs ago. always thought a certain country has no business with what other countries did. when i got schengen visa i never told them about any US refusal,. i guess US and Canada do the border control shit together. pffff. thank goodness for nairaland tho'. information is priceless, this thing made me loose sleep, but i am taking it as it is and making plan b real quick, wish i found out about this the first week of submittion. 1 Like |

omooba2015:bro Goodmorning, study leave IS NOT A MUST which many working have gotten their TRV without that.successful ones here can testify to my statement.but i would "consider" STUDY LEAVE LETTER A MUST on the CONDITION of if your intended academic pursuit is useful to an organization and/or intends to elevate your profile in such organization if you have the interest in coming back to such organization, then study leave is advisable.moreover some organizations grant study leave letter if you'v worked for a period of time like say 5yrs and above so it varies between organizations. |

Goodday Everyone, I applied for the GCMS file note. This was the feedback note on it. "I note that sponsor is third party. Insufficient evidence of funds reserved for studies in Canada provided. Based on the evidence provided I am not satisfied that applicant has sufficient available funds for tuition and upkeep during first year of studies in Canada. Based on the information provided and explanations provided by the applicant, I am not satified that applicant is a genuine student who intends to complete course of study in Canda. I am also not satified that PA would leave Canada at the end of authroized stay given, in part because of educational and employment history. Application is refused." House, How can I tackle this?? olaniyisal:[b] |

thesoj: Thanks bro. I really thought I outlined my finances clearly, but according to Mikymiko's link, it seems I shouldn't have multiplied my employer's funding by 2 (i.e for two years). I understand that if someone is sponsoring me with $x per annum, and my personal finances is $y and already paid grad tuition is $z, my funds available should equal $(x+y+z). I hope I'm correct. In addition, this time I'd specify that my personal finances are for traveling expenses and misc. |

thesoj: i hope so, just wish i noticed earlier, i just mailed the accra office as someone suggested, but my application is 10 weeks already. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Bamz(m): 9:10am On Jul 27, 2016 |
olaniyisal, Our applications are virtually the same and we both got delayed. There's a trend here. omooba2015 is advising a change of sponsor. I think that should apply to you as well. omooba2015, What if someone is using an individual sponsor that doesn't have so much in their personal account except for their corporate account? I have the option of using my boss or my cousin. |

At times they wrote rubbish on GCMS note which makes one think if the VO is high or want want bribe, the main reasons are always at the beginning others are just to make the statement long. From experience I read Architecture and working in a construction company, and the VO said my Educational background and work history are inconsistent with proposed study which is construction management, can a sane person write that. But the main reason was at the beginning "PA appear to be engaged in proposed study in Canada" as a Project Manager 1 Like |

justwise: I just noted that indeed seunskills work for a government organisation. Since that is the case then you may be right. Note verbal may work in his favour. As long as it is used correctly as suggested by you. It is well..... I wish seunskills success in his application. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Nobody: 9:54am On Jul 27, 2016 |
@olaniyisal and @bamz you guys reasons for refusal are virtually thesame. in essense i think individual/applicants should just avoid company sponsorship cos 90% who did so never got successful in their TRV. in the issue of personal assets and financial status and according to the GCMS note it is not specifically hammering the assets point but in my own opinion a home tie is required to take place by means of tangible assets.e.g land deed, receipt or survey plan/share certificates of your own etc.. |

Skiiiwalker: Yes boss. It doesn't hurt to try. At least it will be on their record that you tried to set the record straight. It is better to point it out before they figure it out themselves. Withholding facts is itself a reason for denial. So better act quick because they will definitely find out about your refused US visa and may delay you for lying or misrepresentation. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Nobody: 10:24am On Jul 27, 2016 |
gbsunmonu:its not all about paying tuition fees but having a credible sponsorship with good sufficient funds in the VO's eye. if your LOA states payment of tuition as a condition to meet the unconditional offer, then pay or if it specified tuition payment as a condition to secure your seat before a specific deadline, then pay. at times you might pay a full duration tuition fees but if the sponsor/sponshorship is not credibe(using company sponsorship)to the VO's eyes,i don't see it excelling, but even if the sponsor is credible and have paid ur full tuition fee for ur duration, ensure that there is sufficient funds for ur MAINTEANCE/LIVING EXPENSES /TRANSPOATATION without working in canada in ur sponsor's account/transfered to yours if not you could be faulted in this aspect for insufficiency. make i face duty..later! 2 Likes |

Bamz:For example.. My first sponsor (uncle) had only 600k available balance, inflow&outflow off 6m.. I got denial, I change sponsor(uncle) with 6m available balance inflow&outflow 7m I got denial. I change sponsor again (uncle) with cooperate account of 44m as available balance and inflow/outflow of 80m/120m. With personal account of 11m available balance inflow/outflow 44m/55m. My advice is, only if dere the cooperate account has good inflow/outflow within last 6months with a good available balance, then u can use it alone. Many friends here had used only cooperate account (non relatives)to get TRV. But with GRACE! |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by yemdogg: 10:34am On Jul 27, 2016 |
michV: The best way to scale through corporate sponsorship is if the company can transfer the funds to your account and write a letter to that effect backed with board a resolution. The thing is if I were a VO I would think that the highest a company would do for its employee is to give the employee a study leave with pay. I mean why would a profit making organisation sponsor it's employee to upgrade the employee's academic profile? Is it a charitable organisation? This thing is very logical na. These VOs are proficient psychologist.... They're very logical. Cc Bamz Olayinisal 4 Likes |
