2016- had an accident 2wks after my wedding, fractured ankle, stayed home for 3 months, remember being afraid in case am preggy already, and accident might affect baby, but wen i realised am not preggy i was so happy. got a positive bpf in may, cant wait to meet this gift from God in January, dh has never been excited this much.
@mitchy i also remeber the kpekus that got me knock up o, cos me dey follow my ovulation like kilode.

ok so to my qwesion o, i finally got a day off to register for ANC next thursday, am apprehensive o,[b] i hrd a long metal will be inserted into ur vjay to check d baby, is this true? [/b]apart from tests that will be carried out what should i expect on my first visit?

Persistent headache is normal in this trimester. I also get it a lot too. I also notice it comes more when I don't sleep in the afternoon or sleep at all during the day. It also comes when I'm really hungry, tired, and stressed. 

So what I do is, I make sure I sleep for at least 3hrs every afternoon! (If you go to work, sleeping at noon will be tough so I'd suggest just taking a break, find a quiet place and just lay your head). If I can't sleep in the afternoon, I sleep early evening for an hour b4 dh comes home from work

I also make sure I drink lots of water, and I eat every 2/3hrs (small meals tho)

If I can't sleep at all thru out the day, I turn off all lights, and tv, I turn down volume of my phone, make sure everywhere is quiet, then I just lay down on a soft pillow, and close my eyes for a while

You can try these. It may work for you

They use aa doppler to check the heart beat and if doc thinks it's necessary, he/she will send you for an ultrasound!

My dr only checked my belly, pressed it a bit to see if all is well, he also took a look at my nipples to see if all was normal too.

So my dear teamie, be afraid not! Go ahead and register for your antenatal. So you can get your routine drugs and necessary injections. I was given tetanus injection yesterday and I still have 4 more doses to go back to collect.

At your first visit, they will ask several routine questions like "is it ur first pregnancy", have u ever had a miscarriage? All that kinda stuff

Also they will ask abt ur last LMP and the dr will just tell you few things. 

Also, if you have questions, don't be shy to bombard the doctor with them o! No question is a stupid question!
Me I asked if I can continue to kpekus wella o!

Cheeketo no fear that long metal( it's not metal sef) is if you want to do TVs, transvaginal scan! Which is not necessary. You may ask them to do the Doppler scan instead which is done on top your stomach by applying gel and rubbing the scan stick on your Tommy! Very less invasive than the TVs.

Depending on how many weeks you are you may be giving your first tetanus shot,

Generally the below will be done

Blood will be drawn for testing

Urine will be collected

BP checked

Weight and height

Lecture on Pregnancy symptoms and dos and don't.

Medication may also be given

mymoneygrows i had that experience too whenever i kpekused, i was so scared dt i came here to ask questions too, when i googled it i found out it happens to some pple and i confirmed it after we kpekused the second time same thing happened. the third time i told dh to do withdrawal method lets see, and lo and behold i dint have dt discharge afterwars. so i just concluded d s.perm might just be doing some experiment in there. anyway i advise u still visit ur doc too.

So l wnt to d hospital nd complained nd they prescribed painkillers for me, said I'm healing well nd no obvious sign of complication. Will b meeting with my consultant on Friday for my two wks ff up app. With d painkiller l feel more relieved by the day.

Yes I did the tiger nut for a while too before switching to bitter Kola! A total life saver salivating and nausea disappeared from me, the only downside of bitter Kola is I didnt get the taste in meals at all! When I cooked salt will be too much because I was not tasting salt and I kept adding more! It's others that ate the food that tells me it's very salty

Plus I don't take it 3 hours before and after my scheduled prenatal tabs time! Cos it renders the medication useless! So take note.
