That's a Kazeemized name. You are better off calling it final drive. Also note that 4x4 drive does not make a vehicle an SUV. There are 2WD SUVs, and there are 4x4 sedans.

I drive a lexus rx300, 2003 model. after driving for about an hour yesterday, i noticed some vibrations which later increased.
the check engine light which is usually on started blinking. all this happened for about 10 mins & stopped. the vibrations were not jerks but vibrations. i had done a scan about a year ago when i bought d car but d person who did it said there is nothing to worry about the permanent check engine light, that its our type of fuel in Nigeria. & i have been enjoying the car though the i percieve gas smell from the exhaust when i buy fuel in some particular stations. pls help with this vibration even though it has stopped.

Hi everyone. Just read thru all posts.
I have a RX 300. Last Saturday, it jerked and gave up the ghost on the road. I called my mechanic who said its the gear. We managed it home, using the last gear - L.
He said its 2W drive and will cost 130. I did my Ladipo homework and was told 75k.
My most pressing question is, if i change this gear, will my car be ok? Bcs if not, i rather fix and offload it. I've only had it for a year. Its been beautiful till this incident happened. Smooth drive, sound engine.
Any advice? Thanks all.

The Ladipo guy who wants to sell to me is someone i pulled off from chutku site. Don't know him from Adam, so i can't assess his honesty and reliability. Though he did send someone to check the car, all the way from Ladipo.

it does not jerk for now sir but two weeks ago it started vibrating and refuse to fire to 40km then my mechanic says is coil which he bought and change and all the problems stop. Only to notice this new development yesterday but this time no vibration and only drives to 60km only.

Okay okay people... I think I have gear problem too though I have spoken. To honmusa... the issue is my car in in motion it will suddenly stop.. and continue to rev high.. won't move unless I switched off the engine and wait a while. Before it will pick again... I need someone to come help me scan and tell what the issue is... I stay around redemption camp I don't want to drive the car like that till it's sorted
