Hello guys, I made my application and had my interview on Friday. Fingers crossed and waiting for a favourable decision. However, I had an observation. The lady that checked in my documents returned the OANDA printout saying it wasn't necessary. I was surprised though but is this same with everyone that has applied too?

I applied on 21st and my oanda print outs were included in the application

will anyone be willing to give in this hard times how dod u get a CAS wothout the schl asking for ur statement cuz i am aware most schools ask for balance before ossuing CAS? the option i know of will be to defer till january or next yr sept

It won't . It's just an additional documents it's not required.
For others please write out the oanda rate on your bank statement while submitting to avoid this

Please run away from the agent, every help and information that you need about tier4 is on this thread.

I had a similar experience last year, used an agent and was denied visa because of this same maintenance. I and my dad were both applying for UK visa tier4 and 5 years renewal. We used his statement both with good account history of both USD and naira he was granted i was denied.


It was after that I discovered this thread and read every post on it from part one

Is anyone getting into any of these four schools: University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University of Bath or Imperial College London). You might want to check the update to the Tier 4 visa guidance. The update takes effect from July 25 2016. It is a pilot program so it means that those that are eligible do not need to submit both their academic credentials as well as financial statement.

Annex 6 Tier 4 Pilot
1. If you are applying to study a Masters course for 13 months or less (excluding the duration of any pre-sessional course) at the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University of Bath or Imperial College London, you are eligible to participate in the Tier 4 pilot. This includes if you are applying from both outside and inside the UK.
2. Participating in the pilot allows you to:
- stay longer after the end of the course - the total length of stay you are allowed is the full length of the course plus six months after the end of the course;
- submit fewer evidential documents with your application – you will not be required to submit certificates or documents showing your previous qualifications or transcript of results and documents showing you meet the maintenance requirements.

The school are responsible for checking that your finances are OK.
They get into trouble if they allow people to slip through so they are very strict.
If funds are not enough probably best to defer.

My question is why use an agent in the first place? some of these processes are very easy and straight forward. Any individual agent will just jeopardize one's chance.
Just see if your dad can get some money and just put it into the account then after getting ur visa, he can return the money.

Is it possible for a dependant to be denied visa? And is there a problem with a 39year old man applying for a masters?

I would guess that they do their own check on the rate.
But better to take it than go with nothing.

The interview was pretty straightforward. Questions were on my educational background, reasons for choice of the school, reasons for studying the course and my plans after the studies?

As said many times
They want to hear you speaking to see if you sound confident and truthful.

We see reports back of the VO saying you have just learnt a speech.
Many interviews posted here if you search back.
Take guidance but do not copy answers, tell your own truth.

from my msc experience years back, they asked on the area i am going to study. what i know abt it and also questions on my modules.. so be informed on the closeet airport to where u r going and also be informed on some of the modules you are going to be studying... why u chose the school also

It is not a requirement to print out Oanda rates rather you should have written the rates on the Application form or on the bank statement.

All the same, they will check themselves, nothing to worry about.

[b]A legal guardian is accepted but it is quite complicated to be honest. If you are sure you can successfully get all documents needed, then go for it. I will post the requirements here.

Alternatively, Why not tell your uncle to put the money in your personal account? If your uncle is scared about his money, he can simply tell you to open an account in the same bank he uses and he will instruct the bank not to allow you withdraw the money out for the 28 day period plus extra weeks to submit the visa at the embassy. Immediately your visa is out, his account officer automatically transfers it back into his account. People who borrow students money for maintenance funds use this same method. I will suggest you talk to your uncle, using your own account is the best. Saves you unnecessary stress.[/b]
