The city has already overtaken Enugu and Port Harcourt it should be primed to over take Johannesburg as the largest City in Africa and if Nigeria gets its bearing right then with investments from multinationals it can be primed to overtake cities like London and Tokyo.

Places like Eleyele, Bodija, Jericho can become mini cities within a mega city while the lagos ibadan expressway can be converted into the world longest boulevard with palm trees adjoining the sides and solar powered street lights to aid night driving

It's good to dream anyway

Never call a forest that house you a jungle. OP I really like your mindset to bring Ibadan to limelight with this breathtaking picture. I can bet all this picture is just 2 local government out of the emergence of Ibadan ultra Mega city.

Ibadan deserve more recognition than what he is receiving right now. imagine Ibadan is the largest city in west Africa and the second largest if not the first now in Africa.

seriously Ibadan deserve a more dynamic administrator like Donald Duke. Amosun , Fashola. Ajimobi is trying but not enough for a city with pure potential for both agricultural and investment assets.

looking forward to see Ibadan international Airport and also seeing Ibadan to promote a festival like masquerade, Oke Ibadan festival and many more....

university of Ibadan alone is an attraction to behold. come to Ajoda housing land that has been abandon for years. Ajoda housing land in Ibadan alone is enough to accommodate the whole city of Uyo in Akwa Ibom state.

I rest my case

Ibadan has always been the largest city in West Africa. Note, I said city and not state. I'm not referring to Oyo State now o, but Ibadan as a city. Not the population, but in terms of geographical area in Nigeria, and the whole of West Africa.

I love Ibadan!!!!
Even though I've never lived there, but used to visit there growing up. I remember when Trans amusement park was first started there, then the zoo at Ibadan in those days, IITA abi what's the name of that agricultural center, Cocoa house- Nigeria's first sky scrapper, UCH- Naija's first teaching hospital, UI- Naija's first university, First TV station in AFRICA, Ibadan na pace setter.

Ibadan leads, others follow

Ibadan for s'owwww!!

Yeah, you may be correct. We still have a lot of villages in Oyo state. As in core villages. Not only Oyo state, but in western Naija, even Ondo, Ekiti where people still go to their massive farms acres and acres of cocoa, yam and palm trees. Etc.
Life is simple there, no fridges, no cable. They grow their own vegetables for feeding, harvest their own yams.
Fresh air blowing everywhere, unpolluted by generator fumes or exhaust fumes. The villagers love their lives and most don't feel they're missing anything, though young people always try to get out of the village to "greener" pastures

I'm serving in Oyo and I really feel sorry for the lack of civilization here, extremely pathetic! Boredom has finished some of the corpers and youths here... I am so tired of the boredom, but then I love the environment... If there was electricity often which is a Federal problem tho, I wouldn't have had any problem being here. But no light for days and weeks, I go about looking for where to charge! Chaaiii I miss my home in Lagos.

Ibadan's development, like Lagos and Ogun states, is moving faster than a tsunami.

Ibadan is such a beautiful city.

It will take more resources and manpower to develop because it's such a huge city, the largest in Africa; 27x the size of Enugu state.

Give or take 5 years, the SW will be a force to reckon with.

#ProudBrownRoofRepulic #ProudYoruba

Nothing can stop the storm in Ibadan.

And how many times the size of lagos state?

Like I said on another thread, the time will come when the trio of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo will
be ones topping the charts on economic indices

You don't need a soothsayer to know that

Am not a fan of ajimobi, but truth be told and things might not be going well as expected in the state like every other states across the nation. But undoubtedly a good number of roads have been constructed in the state, jericho dualisation, agodi gate dualisation and many more that are going on. He has indeed tried. There is a great facelift for the city. I knew how ibadan wasn without those roads, it wil be far cry from the present state. I hear people say the buildings adorning the city landscape are private investment. Do u expect it to be govt investment? Even lagos and abuja without good roads wil be shadows of itself. And are the houses on the roads in lagos and abuja owned by govt? Answer is NO. I think road is important for any nation or state to grow. However, ajimobi, pls pay workers salary.
