For years on end, we have been served with different talks, articles and videos, on ways we could easily get pregnant.

Some articles have even been written on the easy steps to getting pregnant, do’s and don’ts of pregnancy, amidst several other interesting topics.

One topic, which many are yet to talk about are ways one would never imagine they could get knocked up and today, we will be discussing ten of those ways.

1. USING THE REAR DOOR
Just few weeks back, the case of a lady getting pregnant via her anus, trended for a while, as people could not understand how this could actually happen. However, according to Mary Jane Minkin, MD, a clinical professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences at Yale School of Medicine, this is indeed possible. She said; ‘Even if he is penetrating rectally, he can be depositing a little seminal fluid around the opening to the vagina. Let’s face it, the vagina and the rectum are very close territory.’

2. SEXLESS BATHTUB RENDEZVOUS

Yes, this is also possible. Just fooling around with your man in the bathtub, can actually get you pregnant. According to Minkin; “Any time you end up with semen or seminal fluid around the vulva, you can get guys up inside there.” Now, this may not be a hundred percent, but its also not impossible.

3. SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WHILE MENSTRUATING

Ladies, some of us actually know sperm lives up to five days in us, so having sex during you period and ovulating earlier than expected can actually lead to pregnancy. Minkin explains that if you have sex toward the end of your period and you ovulate early, you could actually conceive.

4. MAKING USE OF OLD CONDOMS

For some reason, people tend to store condoms in their homes for months in really clumsy and unacceptable places. First, using an old condom is a no-go area, talk less of using an old condom that has been exposed to both a cold and hot temperature. Minkin, notes an old condom, over time, must have had the latex weaken and lost elasticity. On that same note, a condom that has been exposed to hot and cold elements can also be compromised.

5. CONCEIVING EVEN WHEN YOU ARE YET TO WEAN YOUR CHILD

This is very possible. According to Minkin, the hormones involved in breastfeeding does help suppress ovulation, but that is no guarantee on not conceiving, even if you haven’t started your period again after giving birth.

6. EMERGENCY MORNING AFTER PILL

It is true that emergency contraceptive pill can help decrease chances of pregnancy, but will not totally prevent preganncy. Should the pill be taken within a 24-hour window, there is a 95% chance, you will not conceive. However, the longer you wait to take the pill, the less effective it get.

7. GETTING PREGNANT WHILE PREGNANT

Sounds weird right? Yes, it does, but it is totally possible. This uncommon phenomenon actually has a name to it and its called superfetation. According to Minkin, this happens when you continue ovulating even while pregnant. The second fertilized egg implants in the lining of the womb, resulting in a second pregnancy.

8. LEAVING NO SPACE AT THE TIP OF THE CONDOM

When you decide on not creating a little bit of space at the tip of the condom, there is every possibility that your sperm could spill over from the side and into her awaiting womb.

9. CONTINUING THE FUN WITH A STICKY FINGER

So, you guys just sealed, signed and delivered the deal but he felt, hey, he needs to be certain the deal was properly sealed then inserts a finger, which has remainder of sperm on it, into your vagina, yes, homegirl, pregnancy can also occur via this channel.

10. OPENING A CONDOM WITH YOUR TEETH

In the heat of the moment, a faster option of letting the condom out already and properly placed where it belongs, might occur and the teeth as a tool might come in, this is a huge no no as in so doing, you could accidentally puncture the condom without realizing it.

I wasn't married to my wife when we had our first baby and the pregnancy wasn't shameful, as a matter of fact, twas a very beautiful thing.
