That is the irony of Christianity that it has become such a fitting vehicle for the worst types of human hypocrisy. When you consider that such a vast part of Jesus rhetoric was aimed against hypocrisy in Judaism it is so utterly ironic that christianity itself is the headquarters of hypocrisy today.
Jesus endured the Shame of the Cross and turned it from a symbol of shame to one of Victory.

Satan however endured Christ's teachings for a little which then turned it from a vehicle of salvation to a vehicle of Hypocrisy.
