feelamong: Wow! Your fund manager must be very bullish. But wouldn't have been better to lock it up for 364days? I doubt if the rate can be higher for subsequent auctions in the year than the range for today's auction. |

ukay2: Thanks bro... I have learnt a lot from this Thread and from you all! That lady with the SCB rates really did us well...I hope she will continue to post a lot more often. CBN wants the FPIs to come in with their dollars so we expect the market to remain this "bearish" for a long time....maybe till December. |

T-bills worth NGN245.18bn was sold today and an over-subscription in excess of NGN246.35bn was recorded. The stop rates for 91 days, 182 days and 365 days were 15.44%, 18.06% and 18.50% resp. Lol. Na wa sha. 2 Likes 1 Share |

tolutweety:T-bills (et Fixed Income asset class) works inversely with the Equities market. One goes up, the other comes down (not all the time though), so one cannot just come and be going up like that na. Lol. How market?. 1 Like 1 Share |

lol... Na Shakara I dey do oh!!!! I dont live in Nigeria, so I send my money over to invest. The devaluation of naira is helping me big time, when it picks up again, I can bring my money back here. In the mean time, I will keep investing! EVERY LITTLE HELPS. MrTour: |

feelamong: You couldn't have put it better! Even though I am yet to debit alerts for the fees, I am happy that I quoted my own rate of 17% on 182 days. This is exciting for me because this is the first time that I will quote my own rate; I have always gone with the bank rate. In a little way, it also taught me to take more calculated risks. Thanks to you bro, SuccessGee and others who gave me the motivation to take the plunge. 18.05% is sweet but 17% is ok 1 Like |

LOL, like i mentioned, I just dey do yanga. Eventually i will make my €90 back and more, God willing. I am just praying that by this time next year, the naira would have strengthened against the EURO. One of the perks of trading from abroad at this point in time. just2endowed: |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Jamean(f): 7:52pm On Aug 03, 2016 |
tolutweety: Judging from past trends in the 3rd qtr of 2014 & 2015, the rates went to about 16% remained steady and began to drop to as poor as 7.25% early this year. Currently due to the enticing rates, the market is already getting saturated and the rates have higher tendencies of dropping than increase. Even if it increases, I don't think it will get to 20%. Rather it will be steady and gradually reduce. Other money market placements need to thrive as well, the appreciation of their rates correlates with this. It's all a circle. 2 Likes 1 Share |

My fellow nairalanders. I would like to know which bank is best to use for this treasury bill business. I have been reading some post, i see standard chartered bank and stanbic ibtc seems to be what people are using. Please recommend a suitable bank. Thanks |
