Today,Staff of Local Government Councils across the State dressed in black invaded Benin City in sorrowful and mournful moods protesting the non payment of salaries for as much as 14months in some cases.while others have been owed for 8-12months in most cases.

Bro, the governor is not responsible for paying local government workers in Edo state, period! If the local councils weren't receiving their allocations, then we could be inclined to drag the name of the governor into this.

Edo state councils have a level of financial autonomy; below are links to reports sometime late last year of Oshiomole disciplining LG chairmen for failing to pay salaries these same salaries. Accusing Oshio for non-payment of LG chairmen not paying the salaries of their staff is like accusing Buhari for Osun state or Bayelsa state not paying their state civil servants.

You have no hope really................... As someone that understand local govt. affairs more than you. I am very sure the problem is as a result of disagreement between NULGE and the govt.
The problem of Nigeria is UNION.

There is no way state govt. will single out local govt workers for no reason and pay other workers in the state. I did my IT/SIWES in local govt council some years ago. This kind of news is normal within LGA.
These people now spend millions to contest for NULGE positions. I repeat, the problem is as a result of disagreement between NULGE, state or local govt. It is not because no money to pay salary.
