martineverest: but dude this is a old fact and old news, since the late 90s and 200s... people have always said Nigerians that are scammers it's a pity they don't use it for positive but let's face reality, it's difficult but provides them an easy life, they don't go to work, they stay clean, they get all these our girls running after them, queing just for 2k, 5k, 10k and more, we see these guys all the time, if not for a few of us that actually earn a good living and work in a reputable place, they intimidate, the good life attracts, it's a sad but true fact, the feeling that u can buy any phone, any shoe, top and all that and get girls easy is more than enough most Nigerian youths, especially the ones in Lag and south here, a lot have fropped out of school and u see them just laying about hoping for their lucking day, doing absolutely nothing and our girls love them and after they would say it's buharis fault or it's Jonathan's fault.. 1 Like |

Very informative, however, my dear readers, there is nothing new about the fact that Nigerians are one of the most brilliant minds in the world, the purposes to which such ingenuity are used are borne by a number of factors, a major one being the dearth of opportunities to groom and channel it to societally benefit Nigeria as a whole. Without further ado, this piece is a witty sales pitch... How? The writer wants us to believe scammers have devised a new way of hacking, they paint scenarios of the modus operandi involved, how much people, smes, organizations have lost blah di blah di... One reads on and is utterly taken with just how much havoc they can perpetrate actually and potentially... And then they deliver to you the main objective of the piece "...Stewart and Bettke have also uploaded a program to GitHub that detects digital artifacts that remain on an altered invoice to tip employees off to suspicious activity..." which is inform and sell you 'a program'. Every reader is perhaps searching for the name, where to purchase and how to, now... Impressive... |

Where in the article did it say Nigerian scammers? Seun or his moderators need to know Nairaland is now a big place, don't allow this to be use for negative publicity of our country. This is just rubbish. |

The title and the topic been discussed is so ambiguous . So they installed '' own malware '' which inturns monitor their activities ? This one self is even too hectic, there is another type of wire wire . I was happy I didn't see BOA there op please remove this topic it's too expository 1 Like |

We have scammers all over the world. this writer has decided to pick Africa just to help sell their stupid software. All the anti orisirisi they came up with didn't stop Internet fraud and that's because we have more advanced scammers in advanced countries like Russia, UK,USA and so on. The scammers in Africa are learners |

I have always said that there is no way that Nigerians can scam Oyinbos, that they do not know exactly know they are, and where they are. The only money our scamsters get is the money they willingly gave away, TO BUY OUR NATIONAL REPUTATION. Don't you remember what DONALD TRUMP said? That he wanted to use the excuse of our scammers to impose restrictions on our Internet? |
