Am throwing this question to the house most especially those from the north or persons who have experienced this kind of food.
A long way back i saw some kind of hausa food that looks grain but marshy some how and it was used to eat pepper sauce. Its been a long time so I May not be able to describe it appropriately but am looking at this as a substitute for rice.
Anyone one in the house that can help out on this and other naija foods/grains that can be used a a substitute for rice. The food should be affordable for those in the Majority, Please dont mention breadfruit this is not affordable for the masses.
Just like we came up with substitute for tomatoes we can also do same with rice, lets put on our thinking caps!

Laurele...below are things that could possibly be wrong your puff batter.

1. Wrong measurement

2. Too much yeast

3. Too much water

4. You left it for too long to rise.

5. You didn't deep fry...

6. You used little oil for frying.

Priceless200:

Debolly please, I need your help, measurement have always been my issue.. Please how many 'g' is derica tomatoes medium cup or tin peak milk.. I am really confused. Let's say I want to measure I kg of floor using this cup how many of it makes one kg, should it be level filled or normal measuring, mound....?thank you. Everyone here that knows should also help me oo. Gurus please

Priceless200...I don't know what derica tomatoe medium cup measure but the evaporated peak milk tin should be about 125g. Whenever you're measuring dry ingredients they should always be levelled hence your flour should be levelled.

Who asked for your opinion about whether you eat McDonald's or not? That you do not eat something does not make you better than those who do. I did not find your post funny but rather tasteless, thoughtless and uncalled for. I, myself, am health-conscious. That was actually my first time eating McDonald's in a year and a half, but I didn't feel the need to make the public announcement when I posted the picture. I also ordered it without cheese, without mayonnaise, and without salt on my fries (the poster on the tray had nothing to do with the food) and again, chose to leave these out. This was 100% Canadian beef raised in Alberta and the sandwich was freshly made, as I watched. Without these add-ons, it was still delicious and I'm glad I got the chance to eat it since it was only sold for a week. Learn to keep your opinions about other people's {food} choices to yourself.

I'd rather run backwards, through a corn field, at night, na.ked, with a pack of wolves chasing me, than eat anything at mcdonalds or burger king, for that matter.cool

Out of respect for the thread, i'm going to let this one slide. If it was another thread i definitely wouldn't. Meant it as a subtle joke and those who got it got it. You didn't.

Out of respect for the thread, what you should have done was to keep your unwarranted comments to yourself. Your attempt at trying to be funny came out cocky instead and to the individual (*raises hand*) whose post you quoted, it was a fail. Admit you have nothing else to say now after my response, otherwise no need to let anything slide. If you've something to say, say it. Trust me, I will respond. When you don't, it's obvious, as it is now.

I had plenty to say. Like your need to defend why you ate the burger in the first place?. With a history of the side dishes, add-ons, sourced ingredients and chemistry of the cows used. Seems to be a pattern with you. Lol. I'd hate to meet you in person and ask how your day was. We'd be there all day. Ain't your dad. You can eat it anytime you want. Meanwhile, how was your day? grin

P.s. You are tap dancing with a guy with a big brain and a sharp mouth. Hope you are ready to dance? cool

I was not defending myself but merely wanted to put you in your place. You quoted my picture, remember? You said what you wanted to say, and I replied in kind. Since your high-and-mighty self felt the need to project your views, about something that did not concern you, I felt the need to school you a bit. @the bolded, you're picking out things from my posts that do not exist, to support your baseless point. Either that or reading comprehension isn't your thing. I'd hate to meet a wimp-ass nicca like you who doesn't know how to enjoy himself. You don't want to eat a burger? Then gtfo, mcheew.

It's clear you have no argument here and this is becoming redundant. And no need to be copying my words now. Like I said earlier, the only person with comprehension problems is you. Wimp-ass nicca who can't eat a burger.

You know what? I am going about this all wrong. I should be educating you on the benefits of eating healthy. So, with that being said, while still berating you on the thread, I am going to school you quickly on how to make a healthy pot of Efo riro. I know it's late and all, but if i can change your life, it would be worth it.

First, you boil your meat and it this case, goat meat. Then you boil your pepper and tomato mix.

You will not believe my good fortune one day. I was out in the woods two weeks ago hunting with a couple of buddies when we came across these red necks. We started talking and i mentioned that it was hard getting goat meat and would you believe they had a farm and they raised a few goats? I went to church the next day to thank God.
