F35 isnt stealth.

Its "stealthy"

By the time it enters enemy airspace all the stuff that could detect it would be destroyed/degraded.
I never said f35 is stealth. Read well again.

Current stealth technology
F35 is truly a beast. Install the EA-18 with a good AESA L band radar and the f35 will be blind on air.

The Russians for sure have developed technology to detect stealth aircraft, i'm sure of this. Two F-117As were shot over Serbia using 1960s tech.

Recent Almaz-Antey marketing videos show a network of Air-defences able to take down aircrafts such as the F-22/F-35.

Stealth tech are designed for militarily weak Nations, not the big powers.

Highly unlikely that F22/35 will be operating in a heavily contested airspace.

AGM-158 JASSM will be though

The shoot-down in Serbia was more due to an increadibly skill-full operator than anything else. No one said stealth makes a thing invisible, its just dramatically reduces detection times, which makes it harder to counter and makes the successful delivery of its payload more likely.

Its a statistical thing based on long term degradation of enemy air-defences: x many sorties, Y many payloads delivered against Z many assets lost.

I agree with you on this. However those weapons won't guarantee that F22-F35 safety. Their stealthy nature won't guarantee them success when conducting SEAD. Remember the enemy operates AWACS and early warning radars.
I believe US already developed a better coating for the f35 capable of operating in areas where L bands and others are present . If that is so, then the f35 deserve the hype.

Again, not really, its just about pushing back the enemy air-umbrella one day at a time. Get to the limits of their defences, deploy stand-off munitions and run away while F-22's and F-15's take on any fighters that come out to meet you.

You may start off with your sorties ending 300km off the enemy coast... but day by day you degrade their defences until you safely operate deeper and deeper into their territory.

Because we havent had a true strategic bombing campaign since GW1... a bombing campaign from January to April followed by only 100 hours of ground operations... and only tactical operations, people have forgotten the nature of true airwarfare.

As for the F35, its a second teir multi-role platform. A bomb-truck to move in when the B1 Lancers, B2 Spirits and Cruise Missiles have done their work. Infact its the second to last asset to enter the scene... the last being the mighty A10

Again, all this tactics depends on the sort of enemy. A Tier-1 enemy already has the defences in place to deal with this sort of a theoretical attack. It just won't work.

Your above tactics would only work on countries with medium to poor air defences. Tier-2 countries would be Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Germany (in it's current state), Brazil, Saudi-Arabia.

Read what I said again.

Its about degradation from stand-off distances the pushes back the enemy air-umbrella. Be it through hitting targets, or simply by making the enemy expend all of their munitions. There is no real defence because it is strategic its a numbers game, and the US has more of everything and their "more" is harder to stop and harder to kill.

B1's deliver payloads from stand-off distances
F22's and F15s provide air-cover
Upon degradation, F35's move in for tactical strikes

These tactics are designed specifically for dealing with a Russia or China etc

the first time i read ur repy i did not want to reply because it was simply not worth the effort but then i dont want to set a bad precedence.

i just want want to say dont ever u such language "that's was all a bunch of f@cking nonsense" because it does not suit a HUMBLE , KNOWLEDGEABLE and WELL MANNERED PERSON.

if u dont agree with anybody's post just say so.

and u certainly love ur pressure plate trigger , pressure plate trigger here pressure plate trigger there ,
so in the context of IED DETONATION what about
1.command wired detonation
2.radio controlled detonation (wireless /voice comms etc)
3.timer pencil based detonation
4.grenade fuse based detonation
5.trip wire based detonation
6.cellular controlled detonation
7.passive infra red based detonation
8.electronic timer based detonation
9.double impulse fuse based detonation
10.chemical decay based detonation (cruder version of timer pencil)
11.active infra red based detonation
12.projectile controlled detonation
.....................
left out many, why create a security problem
.....................
etc
and last but not the least pressure plate trigger based detonation

there are 3 ways to increase the kill power of IED
1.boosting :stacking multiple IEDs on top of one another to increase the upward force of a blast.
2.coupling :linking the initiation of multiple IED explosions to increase the maximum effective kill radius.
3.daisy chaining :grouping of multiple IEDS wired together so that a single signal will detonate the IEDS sequentially in a controlled manner, mostly used to take out entire convoys and patrol teams at a go .

the concept of primary secondary tertiary ieds is different from daisy chaining , this was first encountered in fallujha (spelling wrong) iraq .

if any US troops/ vehicles got caught by the the primary IED , the first reponders / medic teams came in to retrieve the injured troops , when the secondary IED was detonated remotely.
the lethality of the secondary IED was deliberately designed to be more than the primary IED.
in the end they set off tertiary IEDs in close proximity to discourage retrieval of still alive troops / dead bodies , mainly acted as a psychological tool ie dampen the morals of the troops.

"have you ever seen an IED pressure plate trigger and the quality of material used to make them.the flimsy design of those pressure plate trigger!now imagine digging a very deep hole, then burying that flimsy pressure plate trigger and then assuming the soil on top.wont exert pressure on the pressure plate trigger to triggering it !"

what!!!!

ur assuming the pressure trigger plate and the explosives r attached together and buried together ,
u must have heard of electrical wires
i guess it never entered ur mind that the explosive can be buried very deep while any pressure based FD (firing device) will be connected to it by electrical wires. the FD will be placed at the top surface/near the surface and will be covered / camouflaged with just enough soil so as to not detonate it prematurely.

"also do you know why EOD use mine-clearing line charge to clear paths !i swear reading what you wrote just showed me how little you understand about IED's "

mine-clearing line charge yeah i guess i should thank u for enlightening me.
mine-clearing line charges are used for time critical missions when the forces need to breach a dense mine field packed with all kinds of advanced mines.

also i wonder why all the EOD of all the IED infested countries not use mine-clearing line charges to clear IEDs?
guess u need to educate them.

i will always bow to a knowledgeable person rather than go calling names
good day to u.

i was pretty clear about time critical missions add to it availability of resources , terrain restrictions , vulnerability to enemy counter fire , advanced IEDs with anti handling features etc which dictates use of mine-clearing line charges.

most countries will simply find an alternate route inorder to bypass it and later look to disable them by conventional means . but countries with lots of $$$$$ will use mine-clearing line charges.

it is like a us president said i wont (will) fire a 5 million dollar missile at a 5 dollar tent.

it aint cost effective and very few rich countries will use it to clear IEDs, but if u have the $$$ then it is a good means as effective as other conventional means .

Brah, calm yourslef. They dont employ ex-nazis grin

They follow an economic policy by a guy called Milton Friedman, ie "The Chicago School".

Its a very hard core way of thinking, it takes serious political will to implement the system... but fvcking hell, in the long run its an absolute beast of an economic theory.

The free market is a truly great thing.

What is sad, is that the West is starting to forget about the greatness of the free market, and the economic freedom it brings. Talk to people under 30 from North America these days... they sound like communists.

Sad.

Chile, like many S American countries took in thousands of ex Nazis though most settled Argentina.
However, by far the largest number—as many as 5,000—relocated to Argentina.

Police officers repulse Shabaab attack leaving four injured

Lamu County Commissioner Mr Joseph Kanyiri confirmed the attack

Four police officers were injured during an attack by suspected Al-Shabaab militants who tried to force their way into the Basuba General Service Unit (GSU) camp in Lamu East on Saturday evening.

Police sources on the ground said that the militants ambushed the camp at around 5.30pm and started shooting randomly.

An exchange of fierce fire ensued and lasted for 30 minutes before the militants were overpowered and fled to the dense Boni forest.

“It is true. There was an attack by suspected Al-Shabaab militants to a GSU camp at Basuba in Lamu East at around 5.30pm. Four of our colleagues were injured but the militants were repulsed,” said the police source.

Lamu County Commissioner Mr Joseph Kanyiri confirmed the attack on the GSU camp, but said that Linda Boni Operation Director James ole Serian was better placed to offer detailed information.

“It is true. There was an attempted attack at the camp this evening but I have no details. You can get details from the Linda Boni Operation Director Mr Serian. He is the one in charge of that side.”

Efforts to reach Mr Serian for comments were futile since he was unreachable on phone.

The incident comes just three days after security officers manning the Operation Linda Boni zones in Lamu East escaped death after their convoy missed an improvised explosive device (IED), which was believed to have been planted in their path by Al-Shabaab militants.

Two armoured personnel carriers (APCs) were headed to Mokowe when the incident happened between Milimani and Baure on Wednesday morning.

On August 1 this year, an administration police officer and a NYS excavator machine operator were injured when their vehicle ran over an IED along the Usalama Road in Lamu East.

On July 14 this year, a suspected Al-Shabaab terrorist was killed while one police officer injured when a group of over 20 heavily armed Al-Shabaab militants attacked the Mangai Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) camp in Basuba Ward of Lamu East Sub-County.

One AK-47 rifle and three magazines full of ammunitions were recovered from the militants.

On July 10th this year, 14 GSU officers escaped death narrowly when suspected Al-Shabaab militants threw an IED at their armoured personnel carrier (APC) at Baure in Lamu East.
