I've been a silent reader here before I got married sef... Thanks to everyone who contributes... I have also sent PMs to a couple of people and they have been gracious enough to respond. Really grateful for this forum.
I got my visa September last year (posted my transcript on the USA visit visa thread) travelled for the purpose and returned (spent only one week). Now I don carry belle and will be due in November. Got a lot of info on this thread and it still beats me how people want to be spoon fed.
I'm planning on going to LA as e be like say na there cheap pass. The only person close to family I have in the US stays in San Jose 6hours away and she's really worried about how I'd cope alone and as a FTM. Na im I start to find hospital for San Jose o... called more than 5 hospitals around the county but mehn their prices no be here. I even called one doctors office sef and them say na $7550 for Dokita but if you're self paying you get a 30% discount.
Inglewood and Lynwood, the areas where Dr Ms office and the hospital are located are not safe areas... maybe that's why the services are affordable. May God help us in this our hustle.
As for Dr Fagbohun I do know a couple of people (outside Nairaland)who have used him and they do think highly of him...but again like someone said earlier he's probably gotten greedy and is taking more than he can cope with.
Thanks everyone for your contributions and everything. I'd definitely post my POE experience when the time comes.
Have a great weekend 8 Likes 1 Share |

I know you are trying to help but at the same time you are not helping by posting details of those 'affordable' hospitals here because:
1. Agents monitoring this thread will take undue advantage of such info and within weeks those hospitals will be 'non affordable' as they will be bombarded with request.
2. People need to make their own findings and discover more hospitals rather than recycling few that has been mentioned here already.
3. Hospitals who charged thousands of $$$$ also need to pay to advertise here just as others are doing.
4. All the info one need to find new hospitals are here already and if you can afford to spend thousands of $$$ to give birth in US but too lazy to do some reading and research then you are not ready yet.
So basically ..please don't paste details of those hospitals here I'm sure the bolded is the only reason you don't want her posting it here. Others na washy. You really don't care that much. 16 Likes |

Egonne1: Hello people, been stalling on sharing my birth as I was waiting to receive all my bills. Had my baby in July through c-section delivery at Sisters of Charity hospital, Buffalo in New York. For those interested in birthing in New York, bills are Hospital: mother 4861, child: 1491 for self pay.
Doc: (used Buffalo ob gyn) I was quoted 2200 for c-section and 2k for vaginal delivery but ended up paying1450$. I met with the billing manager and she billed me based on the number of visits I had. I had only 3 visits with them before my surgery and she said 1k is their cost for surgery. Epidural: 800 on the condition that I pay before surgery. Their initial quote was 3k. Thank God I called before the surgery. Am still waiting for the Paediatrician bill for hospital visit After discharge Paediatrician visit: 153$ Ultrasound:130$ Hiv: 130$. It's compulsory for one to do the hiv test. In all, God really showed himself and one thing I learnt is we could always ask for additional discount. All thr best to everyone. The phone numbers are on the website. For the doctor's office, I was rotated between two doctors. the one that took my delivery isn't so patient friendly, they spend little time with you as they are in a hurry to attend to the next person. But they know their job. So if u need a doctor that would gist with u, u could check another doctor office. Wow, it is interesting....I need to know more about this your Newyork package... 1 Like |

Apologies for not sharing the full story earlier....I have been trying to acclimatize.....so back to the story Myself and DH got to the airport around 8pm, we had to wait for some mins to allow the KLM passengers check-in...passed through the NDLEA peeps to search the boxes...I had a box with foodstuff and another with clothes etc... Finally we were set to leave at around past 11pm....the economy seats were not really spacious .....well fast forward to Paris.. We had about 2 hours stop over..flight was delayed for about 30mins...finally left at 8.50am ...while waiting to board I was having some pains and praying nothing should go wrong while still in Paris or on board to US... Landed at JFK at about 11 am. ...fortunately one of the officials passed me to the front line ...in less than 10 mins I was with the CBP officer.. CBP officer: why are you here? Me: to give birth CBP: Why the US? Me: need better medical care for my baby... CBP: How much do you have with you? Me: 4k dollars Cash with about 7k in cards CBP: you declare you have food items; what are they? Me: yam flour, cassava flour etc CBP: Any specialist doc you are seeing Me: yea, have an appointment with a doc on Tuesday. .showed him the appointment letter CBP: excuse me, I will be back in few mins Me and hubby were waiting on the counter and hoping there will be no secondary inspection cos we had 2 hours to catch the next flight... After 3 mains, CBP officer returned... CBP: your fingers pls...face up.....stamped us in till Dec 31st Na so we Waka enter the US oooo. At agriculture, the guy looked at my big Belle. ..seems you are ready to pop...all d best...collect our card ...bye bye Nothing was checked. ..na so my iru, ogbono, fish, yam flour, cassava flour, Maggi etc pass enter US ooo Tok the air train to terminal 5 and checked in Jet blue flight to Houston... It was a very tiring trip but I thank God everything went well... Yesterday I was having some pains...DH quickly called the hospital and I was told to come see the ER doc.got there in abt 10 mins. ..the nurse checked me and said everything was okay and I should go home... Chilling Independence day at home and waiting for my appointment tomorrow with Dr Amajoh... Sorry for the epistle....lol
Congrats |

HillyMa: Dear house, I got into Dallas yesterday through Dubai on Emirates. The trip was long but thankfully I had 2 extra sits next to me so I was able to stretch and sleep with my legs elevated so no swelling. I used a wheel chair in Dubai and Dallas. Dallas POE was Ok, I was asked why I was here I answered childbirth, the CBP asked for documentations and how much I had I gave him and said $8130 in cash and naira debit card funded, sent me in for secondary inspection. I waited for what seemed like 30mins before a female CBP called my name and asked how long I was here for and how much I had and I told her 3 months and $8,130 in cash she didn't ask to count it. She then stamped me for 6 months and said to make sure I get zero balance and sent me to agric, the wheel chair guy got my luggage and we headed to agric, got there my indomie onion was seized by this immigration whitie that knew all about Nigerian foods our ugu okazi egusi lol he just kept mentioning and asking if I had then he scanned my bag and took out the noodles only and I got wheeled out after that. Grateful for all the information I got here.
Congrats & stress free delivery |

veleta: @0 Nnystc, to add to your question, the Ds 3053 I saw on the website will expire this August, can someone still use it after August? Once either of the parents won't be around you need the DS 3053 form notarized ,not all lawyers are public notary, you need to get a notary lawyer to do it though,i don't know whether California accepts form notarized by lawyer or it must be notarised from embassy. Please, Bisoye and Njidekachi,we need your clarification. Thanks I had my baby in August 2015 in CA and I had my consent form notarised before travelling. The form wasn't dated and I scanned the form to the Lawyer after it was completed as requested by him to update his records. |

Three, two or even four people can combine and take it as the living room is equally big. It's available from 1st July. Pls if you are interested, get people to share with and reach out to me asap. I am only assiting as I know this our forex regime is not smilling at all.
