Can I Steam Wash My Nissan Pathfinger 2003 Engine / L Need A Good Mechanic For My Nissan Altima 2008 2.5s / Heating Issue Wit My Nissan Primera (2) (3) (4)
.... by HazzanTazzan(m): 8:24pm On Aug 06, 2016 |
I got a fairly used Nissan altima 2.5 2003 model. "Service engine soon" light is always.(Engine has been changed before but not sure when it was changed) sometimes cranks without starting and only starts after trying about 3 times or pumping the accelerator. But sometime, it starts once. The fuel guage wasn't working so my rewire fixed it but the gauge is still fluctuating... In the process of fixing the gauge, he told me that the return on the fuel pump has been sealed (probably someone was working on it and damaged it so he decided to seal it). He thus told me that this sealed return could be the cause of the car not starting at once. Some people also mentioned that if the car uses security/ censor, it cld be the cause... However, my concern is that ..will this issue not deteriorate as I'm using the car like that for now? My second questions is about power steering pump... The steering is really hard when I slow down and try to turn... We replaced with 2 different power steering pump but still no changes so the mechanic said we have to change steering rack which I haven't decided to do. Another mechanic said I shldnt change the rack ...that the pumps they bought for me might not be for the car thus we will have to get its exact pump. I'm confused on what to do. Lastly, how much is AC condenser for this car? Thanks in anticipation |

diportivo: Thank you Sir... E be like say gazzuzz no like Nissan at all... Also, the issue of the return on the fuel pump which has been sealed... Will it have any effect on the engine? Do u think it might also be the cause of this "non start at once"? |

Guy!!! I am not an auto tech, but I have had enough experience with same car, had to help somebody fix that (2004 SL) car. Similar issues with yours and even worse, gave it go a very good and dedicated auto expert here in nairaland (did well and made me happy), engine was changed before, gear, ecu, throttle body, steering rack and the list went on. He advised the car be sold, but just like you, the owner (MIL) loved the car and thought it was the next best thing after agege bread and ewa agoin got married, until engine started its own wahala (round 2) and needed to be replaced. Now car is on sale somewhere I don't even care to know. Though it is a joy to ride if the car is ok, but when the wahala start, you will hate the car with a passion That car is a joy killer, you MIGHT continue spending on the car, and might angrily give it out someday. PLEASE for the sake of being happy, SELL the CAR. 3 Likes |

HazzanTazzan: Gazzuzz will most likely not touch a Nissan with a long pole He has joined the bandwagon of Toyota praisers And he doesn't own a Toyota o Pls bros, tell me how ur mecho fixed ur fuel gauge issue I had dat same issue with my xterra...my rewire, who is very sound, told me what was wrong from the start.I didn't answer him and went on a wild goose chase b4 coming back to av him fix it A little history will help |

Re: .... by HazzanTazzan(m): 10:14pm On Aug 06, 2016 |
diportivo: I can remember he said something on the gauge had broken ... So he bought superglue to fix it in place so it doesn't dangle about in the pump ... he fixed back the whole pump, tested it afterwards but the guage didn't pick...then he Used his manual meter to see if the pump reads, did some adjustments right there while the pump is already fixed, and it worked.. However, I still notice that the fuel gauge deceives me by not guaging well sometimes and pushes me to buy more fuel . |
Re: .... by diportivo: 10:31pm On Aug 06, 2016 |
HazzanTazzan: I av a feeling the pump is still rolling around inside dat reservoir in ur tank Cos ur gauge will only start functioning wen dat is fixed If he didn't bring down the tank to do it,he won't do it right He seems to know what to do,he needs to be more patient when doing it And yes, hard starting will occur if sucking fuel isnt easy for d pump |
Re: .... by HazzanTazzan(m): 11:07pm On Aug 06, 2016 |
diportivo: Considering the cost of a new fuel pump, I'm not thinking of buying the fuel pump for now... Do you think it could spoil anything if I continue using it like that while it hard starts sometimes? |

Just passing by. I will reserve my congratulations until you buy a car even if its Nissan Sunny 1.4 L engine of any year, Benz 190, Carina 1 or 2, Volvo 244 GLE, Opel Vectra... I will not buy a Nissan Altima 2.4L or 2.5L for N100,000. If its a gift i will sell it. Please go and buy a complete tool box for repairs, a diagnostic scanner and register for evening lesson in a mechanic workshop. You better sell that car just like Gazzuzz said or you start borrowing sooner or later to fix that ''One week, one trouble''. Hmmm! 1 Like |

HazzanTazzan: I don't think you realise the implication of keeping that for a long time. That Altima engine is prone to all manner of faults. In 2012, I Wanted to buy one but after an extensive online research, I ditched that plan. It feels great to drive but sooner or later you either dump it in a mechanic's workshop or it creates a very big hole in your pocket. It's unimaginable to contemplate selling a car of less than 4 weeks old but sometimes, it's better to count your loss and move on than have a big hole in your pocket except you've got a deep pocket. Prior to buying any car next time, do a good research, consult those who use the same car & most of all, there are specific online fora for each model of cars from where you could get objective reviews of first hand experience. |
