Hello Mamas and Papas, I know I should give details of my POE experience and birth. I'll do that as soon as I'm done with all the paper work. Please I need information from Mamas who have flown AirFrance recently, particularly from Hoouston. Someone mentioned here that emergency travel cert is no longer processed or accepted, which means the options are visa or Nigerian passport. Since I'm in Houston, I decided to process a visa but on calling AirFrance, they said baby can not fly with only a one way visa unless we buy a return ticket for both me and baby, since there's no proof that she's Nigerian. Please has anyone had this experience and how did you resolve it? Is there any advise on how I can handle this without getting a passport and not buying a return ticket for both of us? I can't go all the way to the states with Nigerian embassies. Your responses will really be appreciated. 1 Like |

Currently reporting from IAH. Just landed. POE was a breeze although the man wanted to form asking plenty questions. Below is my transcript: Once he sights me with my very big top the questions begin: Me: Hi(while smiling) CBP: hi, where are you from? Me: Nigeria( his demeanor changed) CBP: why are you in the United States Me: still smiling, I say to have my baby CBP: why are all Nigerians coming here to have thier baby: Me: I don't know about others but I am here for the better healthcare. CBP: everyone says better healthcare. Me: I had complications with my first baby in Nigeria, so the 2nd one I had him here. I enjoyed the experience so am back for my 3rd. CBP: everyone says they have complications in Nigeria. Don't people have babies there anymore? So you want your babies to be Americans. That means you plan to move here in the future. Me: I don't know what the future holds but what I know is that it's their decision if they plan to move here. While saying all these, my smile is broad o. And I'm looking calm. CBP: you said you had your last baby here: Me: Before he could finish, I have my folder of receipts on his table. CBP: how much cash do you have on you? Me: $5,000. I brought it out and placed on his table plus my Dr correspondence showing my total and how much I had paid. He asked me to put it back. CBP: where's your husband? Is he coming to join you for the birth of your baby? Me: No he isn't. CBP: Why? Me: He has to stay back and take care of our boys. Then I showed him screen saver of my boys. By this time, he was tired of me and my over openess. I did my biometrics. And he stamped me in for 6 months. No secondary inspection. At agriculture, I was asked jokingly if I came with Suya and okazi. I answered No to the Suya and yes to the okazi. Any indomie? Yes. Chicken? No, onion flavor. The guy didn't check anything and told me to go. That's my own experience. In the spirit of giving back. Lol. Emirates flight was very ok but also the longest flight I have ever had. From Nigeria to Dubai. Then when we got to Dubai they told us we will get to Boston 1st before houston. I almost cried. In all I give God thanks. 16 Likes |

to the lady who asked about air France price to add infant ticket. Get to the airport with your infant and pay. I followed a Nairaland mama who had become a sister o the airport today. When she called air France on phone they have her quite of $460 . When she got there the guy booked return ticket for the baby and the cost came down to &190.67. Best thing is to get to the airport first . And yes no more etc you have to do visa . 7 Likes |

Cheldas pele, I can understand how you feel, maybe you should log in and log out again, that appointment booking site can be one kind sometimes, just keep checking you'll get a close date, there was a lady that once mentioned about her knowing someone who could get a closer date for people if you don't mind you can contact the lady, it is well with you In Jesus name. |
