I would not be surprised if Christians are the first set of ppl to to come after this man. I check comments like that of praise010 and I shake my head for Christianity in Nigeria and the world at large. We tend to rationalize our reasoning and think objectively while these other people's actions are deliberately and calculated to wipe out Christians on the surface of the earth (God forbid!)
How can we explain the fact that Saudi, UAE and other wealthy Islamic countries are not taking refugees from their fellow Islamic world, Europe in there dumbness keeps accommodating potential terrorists in the name of political correctness? they refuse to learn from France
How can we explain that fulani herdsmen(disguised bokoharams) are terrorizing and displacing christian dominated communities like Benue and southern kaduna and nothing is being done from the presidency??
I weep for Christianity if Christians will continue to be politically correct and become a second citizen in their own lands. My words!
u have a very good point there

This is such an insightful interview. I loved the manner in which he answered the questions—direct and short.

theadvocatus:
two wrongs don't make a right!
konnet:
Two wrongs can not make a right...

Sometimes they do, just as it is possible for two unintelligent parents to give birth to a genius. It's a phenomenon called regression to the mean, i.e because something is below average or above average doesn't mean it would constantly remain there.

It applies to the current shauri on ground in the sense that, because all civil attempts to achieve a secularized state have proved abortive, it doesn't mean we(Christians) must persist in tilting at that particular window with the same set of tools and strategy. You cannot fight and win a Barbarian without acting like a Barbarian.

If the Moslems insist on superimposing their mode of dressing on us, or think they are bigger than the Constitution which made it clear that the federation shall not adopt any religion as state religion(1999 Constitution; Section 10), or feel that they have more authority over the school and can defy its rules with impunity, then Christians all over the country must reciprocate the gesture by agreeing that all their children and wards should also be allowed to wear their church apparel to schools in order to strike a balance.

kaakaa1:
His first Q/A was so on point! We're Under Siege cry

Yes, we are. The Moslems have been presuming on the peaceful nature of the Christians. If they keep pushing us and have our backs in close proximity with the proverbial wall, then there is no preventing the outbreak of a full bore religious war.

But apart from that, each religious sect needs to give the other breathing space. All this religious fights will take us no where, lives, and properties would be lost in the end.
I stand for One Nigeria!

Quite an admirable patriotism. Unfortunately, Nigeria was never meant to be one in the first place—the merging of the incongruent entities that make up the nation today was an unholy matrimony ab initio.

Antioch was the first place where disciples were called Christian, apostle Paul and others liberated the land for Christ.... Do u know that Antioch which is now call Turkey is no more home of Christians? infact it's now zero percentage of Christians. What happened to extinction of Christian faith in Turkey is gradually happening in Nigeria if we refused to stand for our faith.

You are right, Africa will soon be almost all non Christian, just like Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Morrocco, Albania etc; against all the prophecies and expectations of CFAN 1900-2020. Though Christianity had a headstart of 600 years, and despite the fact that Christians of all persuasions have engaged; and are still engaging today; in oppressive wars of advanced weaponry and rampant media/online calumny against Islam, Islam is still set to overtake Christianity worldwide. Just go check out Muslim gains in Europe and the US; where the Ex-Christians (now atheists) have turned away from the Pauline manipulation of Jesus, we Muslims are reviving his true message.

The Quran was right...

<< And say: "Truth has now arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is; by its nature; bound to perish." >>

Are christians or traditional worshippers required to wear a particular attire as part of their faith?

In most European countries and in the US, muslim women wear their scarf to school even when there is a recognised school dress code. Sikhs wear their turbans. That is what freedom of religion means.

It is only when people turn it to a competition that problems arise. The courts have interpreted the Nigerian constitution and says they should be allowed ti wear it. You will need to review constitutional provisions of freedom of religion to change it.

Ifa and Osun adherents are required to dress in white, Sango worshippers wear majorly red cloths. So, since the constitution allows for freedom of religion, children born into these faiths can as well dress in the colours prescribed by their religions to school right?

Beside, when will you guys start advocating for female soldiers to wear hijab? See, government institutions are secular institutions, it should not be used to promote any religion.

The hijab is not a mosque cloth. Women wear it every where. The courts have already affirmed their right to wear it.

In the US, muslim women wear their hijab everywhere including school.

Farmerforlife:

For the records, we dont care if Christians wear church robes or go naked. Our faith is self sufficient, it tells US how to attain salvation and please our Creator. Our faith (and income) does not rely on the dressing or manners of people in other religions, so we are not interested in how unbelievers dress or behave.

Lol, if female Christian students dressed like Maryam mother of prophet Isa (ﷺ), everyone would be wearing hijab, CAN would be cutting their own noses to spite their faces.

CAN does not want to be Christian, despite their name. They want to be anti-Muslim to protect their future customer base from seeing the light. Unfortunately, they have not yet realised that it is futile to oppose Islam.

Islam is a failed sect... without acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ, you can not see God...

Based on what i see on Nairaland, both parties are guilty of intolerance.

I read the interview about perceived injustice on christians and I think, it is based on half-truths.

Then maybe they could make the hijab part of the school uniform for everyone. Would you prefer that? What makes the extant uniform inviolable may I ask? The issue of hijab really shows up the hypocrisy of Christians. Why are they crying out with one breath about the backwardness of Muslims who restrict dressing, yet with another breath, they cry about the necessity of restricting the hijab in schools?

For the records, we dont care if Christians wear church robes or go naked. Our faith is self sufficient, it tells US how to attain salvation and please our Creator. Our faith (and income) does not rely on the dressing or manners of people in other religions, so we are not interested in how unbelievers dress or behave.

I don't care about any fucking religion so please, get that straight. All we are saying is, let fair be fair. You want your children to wear hijab to school, good. Let the children of others who subscribe to different faiths dress according to the dictates of their faith. What's bad in that?

Why are you guys attacking the CAN president for saying christian students will continue to wear church robes to school? Wear your hijab, let them wear their church robes, that is what the court says and it shall remain so until the supreme court rules otherwise.

If Muslims leaders talk the way this CAN president is talking about how many Muslims are being killed by others and why Muslims must defend themselves then Nigeria will be in chaos because all i read in his speech is hate and intolerance propagation.
