With slow Rooney and Zlatan spearheading the attack we need our wingers to have work rate and aggressively stretch the defense.
Lingaard has the attitude to do this but not the right quality, Martial has the quality but is not aggressive enough. If Martial is to take the next step he needs to up his tempo and play in a more aggressive manner consistently.

As for Lingard, I think we give him less credit than we should. He has passion for the game and he works hard when surrounded with workaholics. He can be a fantastic player in the right environment with good coaching and leadership.
