How are we sure d gal actually wrote d suicide note and not d boyfriend, and stop blaming d grandmother bcus she did d right thing by sending d olosho to her husband's house or what else do u expect her to do. It might even b d boyfriend and his family that are maltreating d gal which made her commit suicide. They should be arrested and not d grandmother

Mehn, the things teenagers do nowadays....

It had always been like this. If not for social media many people were still under the illusion that Nigerians were the happiest people on earth. How many of these news are reported in the main stream? May God help us. I don't even know if the govt have the number of suicides that has taken place so far this year.

I blame the girl and no one else. Ur granny chased u out, did your boyfriend reject you too? Her granny is human and has emotions just like her, and only time would have healed her disbelief in her granddaughter. U got pregnant tru wedlock - a big mistake, u committed suicide - a much bigger mistake.

All this people saying the boyfriend accepted her yet she took her life...

You don't know the amount of shame a rile Nigerian mother can inflict in your life.

You are also not considering that not everyone is at the same level of emotional maturity.

If it were me I wouldn't giver a fu*k

But a lot of people do give fu*KS and it's not completely their fault... They were raised that way, and it was forced into their soul via religious brainwashing, cultural stigma, and peer/Societal pressure.

Why are they blaming the poor woman? I don't really understand this. The grandma did the right thing....so she actually wanted to get "thank u for getting pregnant" from the woman. The guy accepted the pregnancy and she still took her own life....just wondering why.
exactly my stance too. Why commit suicide when ur boyfriend accepted the pregnancy? I just don't get it. She killed herself out of ignorance and should take the blame alone.

I will advise the government to ban the insecticide sniper since is the only thing youths are using to kill them self.May be it will reduce the rate of commiting suicides.

the granny will be released. The African culture justifies parental control to certain behaviours by kids. The granny neva asked her to commit suicide, she killed herself.

These days if you advise people against illicit Sex and tell them the need to be chaste, they will just hate you.

No body should tell me about any nonsense love. As those who claim to love are in court as I type seeking divorce.

They should free the woman jare she did no wrong.

For the guy, he almost married a lady that is suicidal.

And you think he wouldn't have hated her in future?

A pregnant teen is a troubled teen and you don't kick them into the streets, that's not a solution but just adding more troubles to an already troubled situation.. angry

Old age does not equate wisdom. angry
kicking her to the street is no justifiable reason for such nonsense. She actually wronged her granny and should atone for it. No whr did we read she called friends and family to apologize to her granny and she rejected. She took the action out of sheer ignorance. The true story is still hidden, her granny rejected her and boyfriend accepted, so why the suicide?

Suicide isn't a unction of justification, its depression..

Grandma is the older one in this case and should be smarter. Grandma has every right to be upset with her grand Daughter no doubt, but kicking her out of the house into the streets and into the care of the cause of Grand Daughters problems isn't the wisest thing to do.

Let's get something right.

She didn't kick her into the street. She chased her to the house of her lover.
Though she acted out of anger but that's the first reaction any parent will get. His the boy claiming he loves her more than the woman that took her in when she was young without any lady features? The grandma was merely disappointed. What the boy ought to have done is get elders to appease her.
The boyfriend should be held responsible for impregnating a 17 year old without her parent's consent.
If he's allowed to get away, other youth will think it cool.
I don't what this country is becoming, we support evil behavior and term it normal.

Typical of Naija police to arrest without care. Why arrest the grand ma? Did she give her the poison to drink? Naija police sef ehn, who dey train them? The girl died in a boys house, he should be the first suspect. Grand ma has nothing to do with her death except maybe negligence and child abandonment. I do not know the age of consent in Naija again since Yerima of Zamfara decided that at age 8 a girl child is an adult and should be given out to be ticked by any man that fancies her and wins her in "marriage"
The police has erred in their judgement. But I guess they will arrest even a goat just to charge for bail.

Nothing justifies sending a pregnant teen out of the house.

We commit worse sins against God, yet does God chase us from his planet, or act rashly against us?

she was kicked out agreed! What effort did she make to get back to the house. Is she the first in the Nigerian society setting to be kicked out? What happened to neighbours, family relations who can apologise on her behalf?

your head is the only one working here. Boyfriend accepts pregnancy and she still kills herself in his house. she also wrote the suicide note in his house. I suspect the boy coerced her to drink the poison and Grandma was the perfect one to lay the blame on just because she showed her annoyance. Poor old woman in grief also arrested.

No body is above sexual mistakes and errors!

The way our African parents traumatize young girls who got pregnant and refused the abortion option is really discouraging.

NGO'S should really do more work on sensitization and rehabilitation in such cases!

The stupid boy who knows how to Bleep and pregnant a girl doesn't know he has to take care of the girl and maintain her upkeep.

This is too bad
shame on you for not reading the post before commenting

the boy accepted the pregnancy and the girl, he is a trader too and the girl started foaming in his place
The guy found a suicide note and reported to the police

*She kicked her into the streets.. Going to the house of her lover was solely up to the girl. She may have ended up under a bridge or God knows where.

bkool7:
Though she acted out of anger but that's the first reaction any parent will get.

* No its not any Parents first reaction Bro.. I know a couple. Infact in our case, its was our Househelp who got pregnant for my Cousin (iKnow.. grin), we didnt kick her out immediately. Infact, she gave birth in our house and stayed with us a for bit after the baby was born before she was evicted.

bkool7:
His the boy claiming he loves her more than the woman that took her in when she was young without any lady features?

*I dont get..

bkool7:
The grandma was merely disappointed. What the boy ought to have done is get elders to appease her.

* Grandma was angry but behaved badly. I get Angry myself, but anger does not justify irrational behavior... The Boy already owned up to his responsibility for the pregnancy, thats already a Mature act in and of itself.

bkool7:
The boyfriend should be held responsible for impregnating a 17 year old without her parent's consent. If he's allowed to get away, other youth will think it cool.

But do you know the boy may be happy with the pregnancy and his family may be ready to accept both the baby and the mother?

Thanks exactly my line of thought I suspect that written note because her grandmother may have kicked her out in anger knowing that the guy was irresponsible and not going to accept responsibilty or step up and do the right thing

He spent time there so its possible that he was squatting with others and 3 became a crowd

I suspect the fact that she took sniper herself maybe she was poisoned ...she left a note ...very convenient to claim suicide but I suspect the guu

The grandmother did no wrong here, afterall she was sent back to the father of the child who accepted the responsibility for the child. E be like say this sniper of an insecticide dey sweet for mouth to drink, the rate at which teenagers drink it is growing at an alarming rate.

Rip.
u have said the right thing....

grandma has no blame here...

To me the boyfriend is the prime suspect, not the grandmother, she didn't do anything wrong, and it is time we start orienting this children that there is no fun in sex before marriage or without protection, if you check that person called her boyfriend he may 30 yrs or over while she is just 17 or even maybe 16 or bellow, nowadays children get pregnant, and this children end up giving the children to their parent while they go out to get another.

My Grandma would have beaten the shiit out of the teen, then taken her beat-up pregnant asss into the house and nursed her till delivery because that Baby in her belly is at the end of the day is still her Grand baby..

And I believe you are product of such relationship, that is why you type the way you do.
