You are right @ zaynie,my brother inlaw who is a barrister wanted to take up the issue but alot of people begged him to let go,also that since it is a federal govt. Good evening mamas and papas. I'm sorry to break this news but I have to. My princess is now an angel watching over mama, papa and elder sis. She passed on few hours after birth but I got to know this morning after I heard the doctors telling themselves its not yet time to tell me. They taught I was far away but didn't know my ears where with them cause I've been suspecting something was wrong. She was taken to the neonatal ward after birth and passed on shortly after. Its a long. story but I give glory to the Lord for sparing my life to still be a mother to Ayomide , Olamiposi, my adorable princess. Hoping to get discharged tomorrow so I can rest well, cry well, eat well, attend to my princess and hubby, think of a new hobby and know what next to do. It is well with us all. Please noone should quote me, thanks.

Can't remember the brand to be honest but it was what I experienced with my niece. It put me off sterilising solutions/tablets and I decided that for me, it's a no-no.

Not sure if "slimy" is the right word. "Soapy" or "slippery" maybe.

And then the smell.

Interesting... i guess the brand matters as with mine i have even forgotten the solution in the container for about 3 days before washing and not had any slipperyness. The smell at first was a bit strong for me as you get a kinda chlorinated (faint swimming pool ) smell.

I also use the vital baby aquaint sanitiser water on the go and around the house and that has the same smell.

I guess my nose has just gotten chlorine blind...

Wow didn't even see that part! Mitchyy please discontinue the spirit asap! It's usually cotton wool soaked in diluted savlon or dettol! Spirit is too harsh to use on a wound. Thanks helovesme for pointing this out.

You are supposed to do your own checkup, you are supposed to be examined by a gyne too, I think PCV is done and gyne will check your tummy and all. Depending on hospital dou.

Hello mamas... I come with good news. .

So, I got a job with a multinational company 'despite' my pregnancy... I did the tests, interviews et al with my pregnancy; At first I was shy and somewhat apprehensive but God did it! Never knew it was possible to get a job with pregnancy in Nigeria esp when your edd is close (I'm a September mum).

I resumed work today and the HR told me I would proceed for my 3 months maternity leave, two weeks to my EDD..(Though the leave will be without pay as I would have worked for only a couple of weeks with the firm hence I'm not entitled to pay......I don't even mind)..

God is just wonderful really. . This my pregnancy has been a blessing. . Within this period of my pregnancy, i got admission for my masters in a Nig uni, Got a scholarship for the masters from Unesco and now this job...
Isn't God just wonderful?

Please never see your God-given pregnancy or marital status as a hindrance to success
May God continue to direct our steps

Mitchyy sorry dear keep the site dry and allow air touch it. I'm just wondering what could cause the breakdown as you are not on the big side could be the type of sutures used was it the dissolvable or the one they remove?

I'm also wondering too. The suture is dissolvable. That means i should cover it when bathing till it heals right?

Maybe that's why i'm having these issues sef. Cus ive been cleaning religously with cotton wool and spirit everyday as instructed.

Mitchyy when I had my myomectomy the instruction was to always keep the incision site dry. I was never told to clean with spirit or dettol... I guess hospital rules differ on that one.

Abeg mamas that have done elective CS in naija, US and UK do you get a special soap to bathe with to prevent infection? My doctor mentioned a special soap id be given to bathe with to prevent infection.

Kindly stop having your bath until it heals. There is no way you will cover it n water won't get there. I can't remember how long I don't bath but I know it was up to two weeks! I only mop with hot water n soap as instructed. As in, I mop other parts of my body with hot water n soap leaving the site, the site I used just spirit.

Now that you have little issue there, pls adhere.
