The so much envied NLNG that claims to be the best company all Nigeriasn dream to work for have decided that they will cut the seafarers wages by a whooping 50% where as the office staffs that seat infront of their computers and shop online send and receive emails all day will still maintain their lavish lifestyle of oil company workers without a cent taken away from their salary.

According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a group representing the seafarers made this known in Abuja on Wednesday, August 10. According to them, the protest was a reaction to a mail sent to them by the company mandating all Seafarers to sign and comply with the cut within seven days or risk losing their jobs. Condemning the drastic salary slash which is to take effect from September 1, and the manner at which they were informed, they described the act as being unjust, inhumane and partial. They argued that against the reasons of economic realities by the company for the salary slash, they also have to contend with the increase in the means of livelihood and the current level of inflation in the ciuntry.

Obviously not of course. It is gross dis-service to the seafarers.
I have had my fair share as a staff.
Imagine office workers getting security allowance and denying offshore workers same priviledge.
