My baby has this boil at the back of his head, they burst it and puss came out last week. But since this week I noticed that the boil is spreading, and so we took him to the hospital today, doctor prescribed drugs for us ERYTHROMYCIN AND VEMFEM, but am still scared of giving him the drugs. pls has any mama experience such. Thanks, my baby would be 1 month on Sunday, he is too young for drugs.

Pls talk to a pediatrician bfr administering those drugs,erythromycin esp. Its kinda nasty(from my experience) and d pediatrician asked me to discontinue immediately wen my daughter started complaining of stomach upset and throwing up. It wasn't a nice experience. If its a pediatrician dt prescribed it I suggest u try seek anoda opinion.

My 2 daughters also had this issue which is always peculiar with babies.What we use is natural antimicrobial creams like PROPOLIS CREAM,ALOE GELLY & ALOE LIPS.

We mixed them together and it helps a lot despite the fact it took time but it worked.

are you sure you are using original silverbird?

get the original silverbird and dilute about a capful of it with coconut or olive oil. then apply the diluted silverbird on her crown. that is, on her head. it works like a charm and clears blocked nose

with the nasal drop, use it sparingly as using too much will irritate her nostrils and make the congestion worse.

get mentholatum and apply it on her feet before putting her socks on.

i wont worry too much about the discharge from her eyes. just wipe it clean gently with a moist cloth. it should clear on its own. if she's being exclusively breast fed, breast feed her often (make sure you are eating well- lots of fruits and vegetables as you pass on essential nutirients to her). if she's not on EBF, then ensure she's being fed the right amount of formula and also about 10ml of warm water once a day

Pls I need your assistance with my 2months old babie, she started coughing yesterday and catarrh too. So i did steam inhalation for her with a lil eucalyptus oil in the water. ..mucus came out of the nose tho but the cough still persist and itz getting uncomfortable for her.

Please what can you suggest I use for her?

please do not use cotton bud ever again. that thing does more harm than good.

ear infection just like common cold are some of the things some babies face in their first one year. most times the discharge stops on it own without the use of antibiotics. keep an eye on it for a day or two. if you still notice the discharge, then see your doctor.

no, i do not think co-sleeping has anything to do with ear infection. make sure while bathing him that you do not allow water or soap get into his ears.

Give her warm water. You can also apply metholatum on her chest, back and sides. There are mild metholatum for babies so look for one.

However, if the cough is "chesty", please take her to the hospital to see the doctor. He will check/listen to her breathing and ask certain questions and then decide whether or not she needs mild antibiotics.

I'm sure it's d water n soap while bathing him dat caused d ear infection. As at yesterday d ear was bringing out purse n very painful too + fever bt subsided in d evening after I administered d first dose of d ear drop d doc prescribed 4 us n dis mrng der was no fever, no trace of liquid from the ear. We were also given antibiotic n asked to give 5ml bt I'm giving him 2.5ml.
